Depreciation Class A vs C

I enjoy looking at used motorhomes for sale online and sometimes at lots. My general impression is that there are many more class A gas models than Class C units for sale. Older Class A models seem to be priced lower than Class C's of the same year. Do you think Class C's hold their value a little better? Of course all depreciate at a fast rate after a couple of years.

Here is something else to consider 1) A class C is more mobile for folks that don't want a toad. 2) Many folks can store a C on property where an A may require off property PAID storage. 3) Intimidation/perception, a C cab looks like the like the Uhaul box van they used to move an A looks like a city bus.

In 2006 Fleetwood made the same 26Q as mine as a Class A.
They are on the same Workhorse Chassis.

I have been in both and they are the same inside and out, same storage and floor plan, everything is the same.

But the Class C has held it's value a little bit better according to NADA, and the Class A was more expensive to start with.

Food for thought......:B

I think this is good illustration. RVs depreciate and I can't think of any which are great. But take one of the examples above-if you're good at DIY repairs. Find one which is fundamentally decent, buy it at a fair price, use it a couple years and resell it. You probably won't be out that much.

The answer is the same as asking who makes a better more reliable truck, Chevy Ford or Dodge.

A RV of any type is not a financial investment. You're going to lose money.

It is, an investment in pleasure and happiness. We got great returns on our investment. 🙂

To answer your question, I have heard over the years that a C will hold its value a little better than an A.

Do they? I don't know. If they do, maybe it's because a C is easier to service than an A?
Or maybe, because a C usually has more sleeping space than an A.

Bottom line, condition is the important factor. And, depreciation is my least concern. I'll by what I like and suits us best.

It is an interesting question. Hopefully someone has a better response.
