Do you travel on the 4TH July weekend

I was wondering how many people travel on the 4th of July. I used to go to my favorite lake every fourth. But have gotten older do not water ski any more. Kids are grown and moved out.And quit frankly I don't like fighting crowds on the roadways and waterways on holiday weekends any more. We are staying close to home and will watch fireworks on Galveston Bay.
Happy fourth of July .

We've been fulltimers now for 11 years. Check in to a campsite usually a week before any major holiday and roll on a couple days after the weekenders leave. Right now we're at Elkhart Campground (IN) for a month, got here last Monday.

As full-timers we couldn't stay at home in a sticks & bricks. Our RV WAS our home.

However, we always found a place, usually a national forest campground, that was away from any kind of water - lake, stream, pool. We found that folks going to that same place do so for the quietness. We've never been disappointed. We'd get there on Tues or Wed and stay at least until July 5. No reservations needed. Same for the other 3-day holidays.

We let the working folks have their fun at those times.

We left Gilbert Lake State Park near Oneonta, NY yesterday, and now we're settled in on a very private boondock site on a corporate woodlot in the Adirondacks. The nearest public road is about 3 miles away and we don't expect to hear a single firework all weekend thankfully. Tuesday we'll swing by our lakeside cottage for a few days before heading up to the St Lawrence Seaway to spend some time at Robert Moses State Park near Massena, NY.

I'm still working. Learned our lesson many years ago. Never again. Now 2 weeks after the 4th - every year.

No! Never. Despite traveling full time we just look for things to do where ever we happen to be. This year it will be Houston (not Galveston) and plan to find a local fireworks show. We may need to UBER in to the "big show" but we will find the best fireworks and do what we can to be there. We only care about the fireworks so the rest of the day is just another day.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

No, we avoid the "big 3" too. We're fortunate to have work schedules that afford us a 3 day weekend every weekend, so I leave the spaces available for those who only go on these weekends, for their enjoyment, and my sanity! 🙂

Usually, but not RV trips and not "going camping." It is usually a weekend for family gatherings, and us distant families are expected to come home for the reunions.

Not this year, one of my daughters is coming home to me.

Full time now so I don't travel on holidays or even weekends anymore. I avoid the traffic and the crazies whenever I can, usually when moving to a differnt area I move mid-week.
