Entegra Quality Issues

We purchased a new 2013 Entegra Aspire after touring both the Entegra and Newmar factories and truly believed we purchased an excellent quality coach. However, it has spent most of the past 18 months in for service. This is our 3rd Class A so we expected several "bugs" to work out but our list of problems has been extensive. I'm interested in finding out whether other Entegra owners have experienced this and more importantly, whether we can eventually expect to take a trip without needing to get service done. We are wondering whether we should cut our losses and try Newmar but if this is typical, we don't want to start over again with breaking in a new coach. Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

A similar list is not that unusual for other Brands.

With this list I believe you have a case for requesting a one year newer rig at no cost. If you do not ask then you will not get.

Wow, you are just mean. The OP was informing us of his issue, and asking opinions. Isn't that was this forum is for?

Just a word of encouragement - we had more issues than most with our TS and Don Brubaker, think he is still the service manager at Entegra, worked his butt off to get it right. Don was with TS and never stopped working for the customer, so there is still hope.

In the end we (ME) fixed some they fixed most, and we ended up with IMHO the best Coach made. Looks good, Runs well, is fun, and after 10 years is still great.

So hang in there work with them -- keep the lines of communication open, work on many of the little things yourself and in the end you should have a great coach for the money.

OK, here are the issues I can recall:
1). Upon delivery the driver side slide out leaked & collected water to dump water on drivers head. Ultimately taken to factory for fix
2). Driver side window leak (3 service visits to fix)
3) Electric step motor had to be replaced after 2nd trip
4) Aqua Hot system leak, luckily issue was only a bad clamp
5) High pitched whistle at speed under driver side dash (4 visits)
6) On first trip, air bags didn't fill (gauges indicated ok but very rough ride & we didn't know better - first diesel bus). Spartan said get to service center which was several hours away. Ultimately we stopped, lowered & retracted levelers and bags filled. Now we check for at least fist height above tire every time.
7) One leveler doesn't always retract completely. Just need to check it.
8). Leak around outside entertainment door, TV had to be replaced
9) Bracket of several overhead cabinet doors pulled out of the wood.
10) rear DVD player had to be replaced
11) Suspension "clunk" in turns. Spartan initially said issue was weak weld on generator frame so took to Entegra factory. Turned out to be an issue with front suspension

These are the big ones I can recall. I do want to point out that Entegra has been very good about resolving these issues. It is just frustrating that we seem to be their quality control. Recently the service calls have become a bit easier to deal with since Entegra allows Buddy Gregg to handle service work (rather than where we purchased the coach). Buddy Gregg has gone out of their way to help us and I highly recommend them! We also took the Spartan RV training course in Michigan which was very helpful and I would recommend. We are about to head out for our next long trip. Wish us luck for a good experience. I would love to keep my Entegra but am tired of dropping my bus off for service after every trip. I am just trying to gain perspective from other diesel RV owners whether this level of "break in" is typical or not. Thank you for your feedback.

Your list is minor in comparison with the issues we have had with our 2013 Newmar. 2 roof a/c's 3 microwaves, 2 broken slides, body cracks, roof leak .. the list goes on for pages. I did get newmar to extend the warranty period due to the fact it was in the shop more than with us. I'm hoping we have most of the bad stuff behind us, but the dash a/c crapped out on our last trip.

You will also get some first hand knowledge by posting this on the iRV2 Entegra Owners Forum:

Hopefully you'll get this stuff worked out soon.

Good luck,

We have said just that every time we pick up the bus from service. We are trying to enjoy this and will if we can get just one trip under our belts without a problem.

Entegra did have some serious quality issues during 2013. They seem to have been resolved on the newer models. From other Entegra owners that I have talked to, I would say hang in there and keep working with the company and they will get all your issues resolved.

2013 must have been a bad year.
I have friends with a Entegra Aspire. They have spent a lot of time at their dealer and the factory also.
They are fulltime and don't seem to mind the free parking while waiting for repairs. The dealer even feeds them some meals while the MH is in the shop.

This seems to be a little suspicious.....the OP has owned two other Class A's and his first post ever is to complain about an Entegra coach. If you're not trolling, please provide some of the more serious issues!
