Only the bed area? We are talking about Class Bs not 5 slide Class As or Class Cs for that matter. ๐Ÿ™‚

But does it matter what slides? If the bed slides out the back the purpose is to create more living space inside the B. The idea of the Roadtrek SS Ideal was to try to give you as many amenities such as kitchen galley area as the longer Roadtrek RS Adventurous which was something the short wheelbase Roadtrek Agile could not do.

The original post video is just a bed as is the Leisure Travel , as is the ERA.

Roadtrek here in North America tried a rear slide on a Sprinter. It was the short 144" WB called the SS Ideal. I guess it never caught on.

only for the bed area not a full slide

Yes, why not? Surely the slide out seals like any other. The inside of the doors would have to be made waterproof, but that isn't hard.

I actually think it is in principle a pretty good design. I have no idea how good the actual execution was. One question is how useable the inside space was when the slider was closed.

Regards stealth and Promaster slide. If designed correctly the bed could be opened with slide in due to Promaster width. Meaning there would be nothing on the opposing door. I agree it's a lot of kitchen but they shure got a lot of extra cabinet space with the L shaped layout.I still agree with Davydd and think a dual zone layout is best giving the people to get some separation if someone wants to sleep in or in cas e of illness. I like the Travato plan but not the torturous dinette. Perhaps a couch instead or a slideout couch similar to the video subjects. Then you could really sleep two more in comfort.

Slideouts on Ducatos common in Australia. Trakka here makes a rear slide for a Class B+

This a Class C you are always comparing Class C's to Class B's. :S WHY?

Except that this one is a Class C. Slides on a true B are pretty rare.

I actually like the RV style entry door. Sliding doors can get loud sometimes, especially during a quiet night. Unlike automotive locks, I can close a RV door with almost absolute silence.

It appears that the downside is the same as it is in the LTV Free Spirit, which was the first to use a full slide like this in a B for the US market. (GWV had earlier, but smaller slides on standard Ford and Dodge vans) The slide has to be out to use the bed which does kill one's ability to be stealthy. The bed in this Promaster looks even narrower... but that may be an illusion from the angle.
