Extended Service Quotes

We were given a quote of $4500 for a 60-month extended warranty through Good Sams on a used 2017 class c motorhome we're purchasing. The deductible is $100, or $50 if we use Camping World. Does this sound reasonable, or should we try to negotiate a lower price? Unfortunately, the manufacturer's warranty doesn't transfer to us from the original owner.

pauldub has the right idea, if your the least bit handy you and a friend can fix things yourself, being a owner of a rv you,ll learn fast ,and I too would not go to CW for anything, have you read the stories on this site about them? that alone drives me away . I,M lucky theres a mom pop rv dealers just twenty miles away ,

They sell those plans because they are hugely profitable. Just put the money in the bank and self-insure.

The problem is not the price of the warranty, but finding someone that will accept it. BTW, Camping World would be the last place I would take my RV for work.

The other issue is these type of warranties are very high profit starting out. If you want to do this warranty, hit them with $2,000 as the max you will pay, then be prepared to walk. Then, as you're walking, watch them chase you to your car trying to get you back in so they can "give you a better deal". Never accept the first rip-off quote on a warranty.
