Is there a good YouTube video how to clean the burner on my old norcold refrigerator. What it's doing is shooting flames out funny towards the tin . I'm thinking a clean out and chimney check is in store. ??

You didn't state what "cleaning properly" is. Would you mind enlighten us what your rendition of "cleaning properly" is.

MY 95 Dometic 2807 has had nothing but the process I mentioned and it works as designed. Just took a mirror and looked in the burner tube and all I saw was metal. Again I suggest that you and others are over think the cleaning process, thus wasting time and materials. If you can't do a complete inspection of the burner tube with a flashlight and mirror you may want to leave your maintenance to others.

WOW! So much rookie over kill. Tap the boiler tube to remove any loose rust from the stack. Remove any debris covering the burner slots. Place something in front of the metering jet and gently blow out the burner tube. All done.

I disagree. While blowing it out with air is better than nothing, it is not the equal of removing the burner tube and cleaning it properly.

And, removing it allows for a complete inspection as well.

How old is your burner tube? Is it badly rusted? If not just clean slots with a wire brush. If you never cleaned it before don't be surprised to find fine rust particles inside the tube itself partially blocking the gas flow causing your problem. If you notice the slots rusted to the point where they are wider, that will affect the air to propane ratio and will need to be changed.

I know you asked for burner cleaning but don't forget the "chimney". Lots of info on burners but you need your model number etc. But not so much info on chimneys. I was surprised how dirty mine was the first time I checked it, 7 years old at the time. Even though you have a frig cover and a screen under the frig cover, stuff still makes it thru. Take cover off and take a look down with flashlight. Odds are chimney might need cleaning also. Leaves and other burnable material are not good mix when you are dealing a flame. Since cleaning the entire burner and chimney on mine, it has fired every time with good clean blue flame.

Combination of wet dry vac, leaf blower, scotch bright pad, flashlight, mirror were my weapons of choice.

After cutting a hole in the screen to get access for your tools, when done I "sewed" a new piece of screen on, for "thread" using very thin stainless steel rod, better known as a bicycle spoke. I went with same size screen instead of fly screen material. Reason was after reading install manual, it seems like some measurements are critical. So I didn't want to mess up any air flow caculations.

At first how leaves and debris make it pass the screen was a mystery to me. IMO the leaves and debris get under cover and then are caught on top of the screen. Then as they decompose or are made smaller by bouncing up and down as your traveling, they are able to fall down into chimney. Then those little loose pieces get caught on the spider webs and ect as they fall down. Just my opinion. Mirror is for also inspecting the tubing, taking a very good look for any wet spots anywhere.

I tried cleaning mine on the road without removing it. I had a emery board and a piece of pipe insulation on a stick and I was able to scrub enough gunk off to keep it going that trip.

I ended up replacing it after I got home. I mean, if you're taking it out to clean it anyway, you're halfway there. Pretty easy job, but you'll probably need to replace the supply tube as well. For that you'll need a tubing flaring kit.
