How many have put a front bumper hitch on and do you like and use it?

Would like to put one on ours for all the reasons listed! Unfortunately there isn't one for the 04 Express. There is one for the xx-03 though, wonder if there's any difference? I know of the youtube using a walmart one but I'm a bit too lazy for that!

Not really. We only use the front hitch while towing the tt, so mpg's are out the window anyway.

It wouldn't take much of a hitch to handle your little boat. However, I'd rather install a backup camera than put the front wheels (and possibly the engine) of a motorhome in the water in order to launch a boat.

You might try shopping at etrailer for your hitch.

I suggest a frame mounted 2-inch hitch receiver rather than a bumper hitch. I suspect a front step bumper with ball mount is going to be pretty hard to find for the E-series, and the standard front bumper, while sturdy, is unusually large for most clamp-on bumper hitches. Yours is the Chevy, haven't looked for hitches for that one.

A good class-3 front hitch would be nice for people who want to mount up front, a bicycle rack or spare tire.

With a much stronger rated hitch, I have seen a couple on this forum tow their B+ with a huge diesel pusher. They use their B+ toad for trips deep into Mexico while their base camp is in the USA.

Thanks for the comments. I will use it to launch a 1,000 pound boat with a tongue weight of around 120 lbs. It would be for our Chev. class C motor home
with a steel bumper. When I back the boat up and see it in a door mirror
it is too late, no usuable back window.

I installed a front receiver hitch for our bike rack. Works great.

Mine has a front hitch welded to the frame, but I don't really use it. I figured it would be good for launching boats too.

One pain in the ass is that it covers the sway bar bushing bracket. I will have to do some cutting if I decide to install a more stout bar or new bushing.

Have front receiver frame attached on current and previous truck. It is used for a bike rack. It gets used all winter.

curt makes front hitches specific to the truck frame. The weight capacities are not as high as common rear receivers.

Dick_B +1. Bumper alone won't provide adequate support. Luckily there are commercially made front hitches available. eTrailer shows quite a few.
