Horizontal two-stage propane regulator question

Seemingly out of the blue, I was in my yard and all of a sudden over the next few hours and day I started to smell propane and detected a leak at the horizontal two-stage propane regulator. With the valve open there was a constant hissing sound coming from the regulator and I could feel air coming out of the pinhole of the regulator.

Okay so I realize I will have to change this out and my question is when I change it to I have to change anything from the hose side that goes into the motorhome itself? Or is it simply a matter of disconnecting the old one and connecting the new one and then Bob is my uncle?

Join the club. There have been many reports on the Forest River forums of regulator failures. Mine went out after less than a year. So far (over a year) the replacement one has worked. Replacement is easy as others have noted above. While you are at it, you may want to get a second one as a spare. Just be sure to use the yellow (for gas) teflon pipe tape on threads.

Just change out the horizontal regulator with a new horizontal regulator.
Use 'Yellow' sealant tape on fittings.

That wasn't air coming out of that pinhole on regulator. It was propane from the high pressure side of regulator....diaphragm leaking. It is a 'vent'
Low pressure side has a larger vent with screen.
Is it time for your medication or mine?

Sounds like diaphragm has a whole in it.
You will need to remove adapter on the rig side for the hose connection. Look at it before you go to parts store. it may even benefit you to take old regulator with you. Make sure you get a horizontal and not a vertical regulator.
Turn off main valve. Disconnect from tank then disconnect hose on low pressure side.

If the regulator is bad, you only have to replace the regulator.
