I also use Protect-a-Tow. Works great.
Got it before Alaska trip. I was surprised how well it kept the toad clean.
Simple to use and stores as a small package.

I previously used a windshield cover. Protected the glass but that's about all.

It will help if you add to your exhaust pipe so it is aiming to the side. This will help keep the exhaust residue away from your toad.

Really isn't much to stop the road dirt and dust the coach will pick up other than a box trailer. Rain and snow make it even worse. The partial vacuum behind a coach the tow is riding in is the problem. It will pull any dust and dirt the coach stirs up and deposit it on the tow. If you are asking about rocks and other such heavy items that can damage the car there are a bunch of add on items that will help but road dirt, not much you can do.

I use a Protect-a-Tow and it keeps the road dirt and diesel exhaust off my Toad and the back of the MH. Been using it since Nov 2011 when I bought my 2011 Honda CR-V and the Toad doesn't have 1 ding on it. Only time the Toad gets dirty is in the rain. I think their web site is protect-a-tow.com
