Took rv to Camper world in Hammond La. to have some Katrina insurance work done while there asked them to check on the Auto dometic awning as I had the wrong one also, Never really dumped right. They called today saying the fabric would be ordered But I would have to pay for installation. Is this what the rest of you did? about $200.00. The Dealer shop which is separate is swamped no room till July. Been living in rv till last week and I more or less have completed repairs on damaged house. Thanks Greg

Bricot, the Ultrapower upgrade can be done in stages, reprogram ECM/ plug wires/ cold air intake/ mufflers. I did the first 3. I have no suspension mods. I just got back from Yosemite and saw an increase of just under 2 MPG plus power that I never had before. On the way home I climbed the notorious Grapevine at 55 MPH pulling a toad and as I got closer to Fort Tejon and the grade dropped off a bit I increased to 60 MPH and passed 2 Pushers and several 18 wheelers. This is just my results, look into it and decide for yourself. Just say I'm extremely happy with my new power for a great engine.

Thats what I was looking at having done, don't want the mufflers - he stated that they would probably increase the cabin noise.

I'll do the $75 chassis evaluation and see what they say.

Well said Jim... we have all learned how to watch out for and fix the little problems inherent on motorhomes through this thread so if you want to bash your dealer or the coach YOU purchased, go somewhere else.

On another topic. I have always wished I had more power when going up hills pulling the toad and recently had the Brazel's Ultrapower package done to my rig and my experience is phenomenal. I'm sitting here this morning outside of Yosemite and as some of you know there are some hills to climb to get here from SoCal and the lack of power is no longer an issue. It would not be possible to describe what the Ultrapower does but I have previously posted that the thhread is on IRV2.com under the Workhorse Owners thread. If you wish for more power, take the time and read every comment on that thread as I have and then make up your mind. I'm extremely pleased with having it done.

The ultrapower is just the programming/plug wires/.. performance stuff right? Did you have any suspension mods done as well? Have you tracked you mileage...any increase? I am going to head up there in a couple weeks to have it done.

Just back from our first camping trip of the season. It's so nice to get out again. We traveled through a very heavy downpour and couldn't get our wipers to turn off after the rain stopped. This went on for quite a while maybe 20 minutes they just kept running even though they were in the off position. We think we remember this happening one other time after a very heavy downpour. Has anyone else had this experience and do you know what the fix is?

We also just towed our Jeep Liberty 4 wheels down for the first time. We ended up with a Brake Buddy and Blue Ox tow bars. It was a much nicer experience than using the tow dolly. Glad we madestor

Ray & Meing,
Glad to hear your getting out.
Had the same thing happen to me, had to pull the fuse to get them to stop. Put the same fuse back they worked fine untill everything but the high speed quit working during a down pour in Seattle . Made it to Workhorse in Portland, they replaced the wiper control. Everything worked fine untill a few of days ago, during a rain, they would not shut off. I left the wipers off, after awhile they stopped. Now they are working fine. I figure the reostat (?) must over heat a few times then finally burn out. I'm headed back to Workhorse.
We have the Brake Buddy with Blue Ox. We also tow a Jeep. Great Setup

When we first got our Pace... the dimmer switched worked fine. But lately I've noticed the same thing you guys are talking about. However, if I turn the switch real slow I can see the dimming action working.

Pat same thing here. Replaced the sitch three times, no change. Owners manual says move the dial slowly may take time to brighten or dim. That method didn't work either. Ifsome one comes up with a fix let me know.

runaground, I'll let you know what I find out. It's at the dealers now and the service manager is not too happy with Fleetwood at this point in re, to sending him a swithch that won't work anyway. I PM'ed Bricot and Dkingdoe to see if their Paces were doing the same. Dealer said Pace is trying to come up with something. ???
Thanks.
Pat

We checked our dimmer control and when you rotate the dimmer wheel it's either ON or OFF and NO dimming in between.

Our 2006 dimmer switch does dim the heater/ac lights and all of the accessory switch lights, but has no effect at all on the instrument cluster. A dealer in Florida told me that all he has seen work that way.

We've been de-winterizing the PA this weekend and couldn't get our fresh water tanks to fill up past 1/2 full. Just couldn't get any more water in them at all. If we would turn the pump switch on the pump would run continuously even though no faucets were turned on anywhere. Next we checked our tank levels and the fresh water tanks were decreasing and the gray water tanks were increasing. We thought we were going nuts or just plain stupid. Called the dealer and explained what was going on and they agreed that what was happening was impossible. So we took it in for service and they looked at it right away. The city water valve in the outside sewer/water compartment had gone bad. Thought this information might save someone else from scratching their head too much.

I was also able to clean our rubber roof in about an hour with one of those new large nylon (scotch brite type) pads on an extension pole. It did a much better job than a brush in a lot less time and was even able to clean the curved surfaces on the edges very well. Also found a new squirt cleaner that does a good job on really dirty dirt. It cleaned the awning slides just by wiping them off. It's called Mean Green Super Strength. You can find it a Dollar Stores and othe discount places and it is very inexpensive.

Happy camping. We are off for our first shakedown trip of the season this weekend to Kentucky Horse Park near Lexington, KY.
