Looking for WASHABLE day/night shades

The day/night blinds in my RV are made of that paper/cloth stuff that can't really be washed with water. Consequently, I have several that are stained and need replacing. I like the way the day/night blinds work. My only complaint is that they aren't washable. I don't want automatic blinds as I would prefer something that I can simply pop in after removing my old, stained blinds. Anyone know of a source to purchase day/night shades made of a washable (plastic??) material? Thanks.

Your Day Nite shades are washable, expand them, spray with cleaner (ie: 409) scrub lightly, flush with hose, collapse and let dry.

Before we installed MCD shades throughout the coach ,we took the pleated blinds like yours down and sprayed them with Scrubbing Bubbles. Let them sit in the shower for a while then sprayed/rinsed them with water. Then let them dry on a picnic table overnight while partially collapsed to preserve the pleats as they dried. They looked surprisingly good afterwards.

Look in your telephone book under "blind cleaning and repair" for an ultrasonic cleaning company. They can normally remove, clean and reinstall your shades for a fraction of the cost of replacement. They probably won't be as clean as new,due to the nature of fabric, but they will certainly be vastly better than you can do it yourself.

Replace them and be more careful next time. 🙂

How in the world are you going to "wash" pleated shades and expect the pleat to resemble anything close to its former self? We like these better than roller shades too, but they do have issues.

I have front pleated curtains in addition to the shades and will, likely be replacing those as well someday.
