Michelin Tire Recall - How Long To Get Replacement Tires?

I am taking my unit in to the local Ford dealer to get an oil change & replacement tires (due to the Michelin recall). I am reading some things on the 'net that supplies of replacement tires aren't real high. I guess that makes sense given the number of tires that need to be replaced. So, looking for feedback from others who had this done recently, is there a long wait to get replacement tires? I am taking the unit on an 1800 mile trip in about 4 weeks so really would like it resolved by then. Figuring that should be OK but just curious what others have experienced recently.

I finally had time to get out to my storage shed and check the tires on my 2011 Jayco and they are under the recall, I called my local Michelin tire store and he said they have plenty in stock. Now I need to wait until the ground dries enough for me to get it out of storage, that may take a few weeks.

My spare is a unused original from 2006. Unfortunately it's not recalled like the other six so I will be replacing that one at my cost.

Thanks, Don, for responding. I have the appointment set up to replace the front next week. They will also check the inside rear for me. It sounds like most owners have all 6 the same.

Thanks for the reply Linda. Please let me know what they find when they look at your rear tires.

Don

Well, glory be! All 6 were under the recall. For those of you unable to get the tires, go online to T.O.Haas to find the nearest tire store. When the recall came out, they bought a lot. My dealer says that there are about 200 left. They can move them easily between stores.

All six of mine were the same also!

My experience was the same as Ductape Dave's - could not see a month and year on the rears. I wonder if the date is only on one side and it is facing inwards on the rears?

Don

Yes, the date code only needs to be on one side. The other side will have everything, but the date code.

So, check the other side. Yes, yes. It's a pain, but if you want to know, that's what you have to do.

Oh and the date code is in a week/year format - like this: Week/Week/Year/Year.

My front tires and the spare have the date code of 2511 but the rears only have a sequence code of B3JH AKEX. Are these also on the recall list?

My Ford Truck dealer said they are on back order...it's been almost a month now. When the new ones finally do come in (positive thinking here!), I will demand to see the tires before they are put on...only want them to be a few months old! I have some long-distance traveling to do, so I hope it's not too much longer.

I am finding that the tires on the front wheels have a different code than the ones on the back wheels. Is this normal?

I note you never got an answer to your question. Well, today I went to the storage yard and tried to read the labels on the tires (in deep snow) and found the same thing. The fronts are 2810 so they qualify but when trying to read the info on the outer back tires I could NOT find the dates at all. In warmer weather in April I'm going to have to look again.
