New A/C's cheaper from sites other than camping world...

We are about to purchase two new Demotic Brisk Air II 15,000 BTU's for our class A and install them our self. These A/C's are about $200 cheaper per A/C from Amazon and other camping site's compared to Camping World. Is there a catch that I need to be concerned about? Why is there such a huge price difference. The descriptions and all are the same, but I'm just wondering is there is anything that I need to watch out for a $200 difference.

Amazon is one of the greatest, if not the greatest and in customer service, as well.
Watch for a special and especially on the install price at CW, which might lessen the burden considerably. If you have a plan and some help for getting these heavy things down from the roof and up again, then go for it. Also if you've arranged for an installer ahead of time. Also be sure of the repair or return procedure if it comes defective and I will usually try an go another route, other than amazon for these heavy items.
Having said that, I've bought home window ac's and a dishwasher from them and also tires at quite a savings.

but are these 'ducted' units

i would certainly check all the duct work connections/fittings for alignment and leaks or blockages, before spending money on new Units

if you replace them i would do 13.5k btu or even 15k btu in the living area
the front of an RV with Slides is harder to Cool, with that much surface exposed to the sun, the heat level is intense

No Slides ? that 11k btu should be cooling the area

The rear unit struggles to cool it off the rear to 70*. It is 13500btu. Even with the blast vent, it’s not that cool. The front unit is a 15000btu. It cools, but I’m just wondering if it seems like it’s struggling just due to the fact that it’s working harder to make up for the slack rear a/c. We have a super slide in the living area and a bedroom slide in the rear. I’m going to replace the bedroom unit with a 15000btu also. There is nothing like a cool bed room when it’s 100 degrees outside with 70% plus humidity to add to it.

Now we are back o aware one and possibly considering Coleman. I called dometic to see how old our current units are, and they were manufactured in 2015. The warranty was registered in November of 2015, which is non transferable by the way. The units that we were looking at purchasing are the exact units that are on her, which don’t cool worth a darn...

So now we are researching Coleman. The prior owner never mentioned installing new units.... so I’m wondering. I’m thinking about calling him since he is local to see if would call about the warranty repair if he owned the motor home when they were installed.

Like with anything else, you always need to shop around and include both shipping and sales tax charges. I purchased three window awnings a few years back and at the time Camping World provided the best deal over all the online vendors mentioned above. It appears most places change their prices and shipping charges daily so no one place is always the best.

I just checked prices and CW and amazon are the same price with in
CW $747 and amazon $756

PPL is way cheaper at $558 verses $756.00

PPL has free shipping currently

Adventure RV is $519.00 plus shipping

never looked hard enough amazon is $579 inc shipping

Amazon’s current price of $756 is the highest it’s been in the past year. It went up on October 10. Before that it was $554. It will most likely drop back down soon.

as I duly noted above earlier today it was $579 on amazon

Which makes PPL still the least expensive!

yes exactly what I clearly posted earlier today

Don't know if this is still true but years ago my best replacement price came from PPL in TX. You might check their pricing also.

Just the giant markup they add to line their pockets. I am getting new brakes on my DP. The parts guy told me the calipers were $345 each. I checked with Beaver Coach and wanted $210. I called NAPA and they have them for $93.59.Ridiculous how they try to rip you off.
