New Nexus Phantom 25P With Walk-Around Bed

Has anyone seen this new Nexus model at the Hersey Show?

Looks like a very attractive unit - less than 25 ft but with a walk-around bed and a full wall slide.

However, couldn't figure out how the bed actually works as it appears from the floor plan on their website that the length of the mattress is longer than the space available when the slide is in. Does anyone know whether it uses a two-piece mattress like a number of other small Cs such as the Navion 24G or that the mattress is stored in a upright position?

Very nice how quickly they made the video! It doesn't look too complicated to let slide in and assume out would be just extend slide out and plywood base/mattress would move into place.

If the foam mattress doesn't met your sleeping needs, I've seen custom marine mattress mfr that can build inner spring mattress that fold like that one - basically two mattress sections with top holding them together. Go to HMC Designer Boatbeds and scroll down to Easy Fold section of page.

I guess to use bed with slide in would be rough unless you are very short or sleep in fetal type position.

Wish Nexus was going to be at the Rally in ATL.

Heck, if I could have a spring mattress on the big portion, the foot portion could still be foam, no problem.
Currently RV-less but not done yet.

Give me larger tanks, and I'll worry about solar myself.

Best to specify NON shaded locations.

Here is another question, how does the outside storage look like for this model?

Question sent..... ๐Ÿ™‚

"Looks like the next question the rv.net folks would like to know about is the outside storage compartments. Any chance of posting some pics or another quick video of the outside bays open and what they contain or the storage availability, and the cubic feet of outside storage."

I also ask how many solar panels for how many watts could be added from the factory.

Wow, your quick ๐Ÿ™‚ They sent me an email with the link @ 9:45pm last night, I just didn't get a chance to check my emails until this morning.

If you look at image gallery on their web page, it looks like they have 3 bays on passenger side - 1) in front of rear axle appears to be propane fill, 2) behind rear axle is long bay same height as propane fill and 3) smaller bay due to slanting up of overhang for rear-end clearance. Harder to tell on drivers side because the full wall slide out but looks like 4 bays - 1) just behind cab looks like generator bay, 2) in front of rear axle looks to be a battery bay with pull our tray (based on small size of door), 3) behind rear axle is tank valves and 4) on the slant-up section of rear overhang is bay matching passenger side (wonder if it is a small pass through).

Wish they would add exterior storage cubic feet to their spec list ๐Ÿ™‚

Just so everyone knows...

I too am interested in this model, although my purchase date would be late next year. I was following this thread about how useful is it when the slide is closed.

I emailed Claude Donati President of NeXus Rv about shooting a quick video about putting the slide in and how the bed was and could you open the bathroom to use it....

I also sent him a link to this thread so he could see people are interested in the closed up functioning of the unit.

1st of all here's a BIG thumbs up for him to put his email out there for direct contact!

I emailed him at 5:45 Monday night, 7:50 this morning I received the following from him:

"Thank you for your interest in the 25P, it is a great floorplan. I have forwarded your request and we are preparing the video and the photos for your review.

Thanks again for the opportunity to earn you business.

claude"

So as soon as it's posted, or I receive a link to the video I will post it for all to see

I find this kind of thing to be excellent customer service!!

As the OP of this thread, I would like to thank Gocntry for contacting Nexus on everyone's behalf and Hope for sharing the link. I couldn't belief that Nexus has already shot and posted the video that they had promised Gocntry only this morning. What a company in responding to customer needs!

You have to watch the video to appreciate the ingenuity of the Nexus engineers - what an innovative design! The beauty of it is that it also appears to be a rather robust design as well. I like it very much and will serious consider getting such an unit. BTW, did I say that I like the company too?

Here is another question, how does the outside storage look like for this model?

Thank you. Very cool design. The main concern I have is whether the bed would be temporarily usable if we were someplace where we couldn't use the slide out.

The 25P floor plan was exactly what I was looking for when going from my 22RK Coachmen to something with a walk around bed (my wife's requirement). Never found one shorter than 27' or so. Ended up getting one a lot longer than that.
If the bed (and bathroom?) isn't usable without the slide being out, that would be a big negative to me.
I also noticed there doesn't seem to be that much outside storage. No large compartments at least. Obviously there's only so much you can do in a 25'er, with a large slide.

So how long will it be before Winnebago, or someone else, puts a full wall slide on the Sprinter chassis? Love the Phantom 25 and think Nexus is really innovative.

The current 24M is a big slide, but maybe not considered full wall.

Currently RV-less but not done yet.

Probably, if you are < 5 feet tall, or lay diagonally on it, and are really tired.
๐Ÿ™‚

That was definitely a thought that crossed my mind: you'd have to have the slide out for a parking lot type sleep in that bed. Also, it's not clear that you'd be able to get the bath room door open more than a foot or so.
