Norcold fridge fan kit thermostat range

Looking to add an external fan to our Norcold fridge. Found a kit for $80 on internet that includes fan, wires, thermostat etc. The thermosat is set to go on at 130 and off at 115. Seems a rather high temp and a narrow range. Does this seem right? Perhaps I should add a bypass switch? Thanks for all your help as always.

Hi two,

The Fridge boiler works best at 130 F. That's why the cooling thermostat is set where it is.

This unit is even better than the simple thermostat:

ARP over temperature protection

Adding to this:
The external fan you are looking at is set properly assuming you mount the Tstat on one of the bottom coils. OP, a link to it would be helpful. $80 is fairly expensive for a $10 fan and a $15 T-stat but finding that T-stat could be hard. This one comes close.

The ARP control is a better shut down device than the simple recall box that NoCold has put on as a bandaid. You can learn a lot by reading the info on the link to ARP and yes I've put one on my 1200.

X2 There is also an optional ARP fan kit, if the refrigerator is in a slide out

The cooling fan tstat has nothing to do with the boiler flue temp. The tstat is ON the condenser fins and THAT temp is what activates the fans. In most conditions above 70 degrees ambient the fan tstst will go over that 130 degrees on the condensor fins. The NORMAL operating temp of the burner area flue is 350 degrees. Doug
