I had changed the thermostat in my 2000 to a White Rodgers heat pump thermostat and wired the fan high speed to the 2nd stage connection. Worked perfect and the fan automatically went to high speed when the conditions were met for 2nd stage operation and back to low speed when the conditions called for one stage operation.

Now I have basement air which is two stage and am currently trying to do the same thing but it's not as easy.

Also look at the Comfort Control Center from Dometic. Several goods write up here on the forum.

Why not just put in a new original analog one. Direct replacement. No fuss or muss.

Why spend $30 or so for the OEM analog stat, when the $20 digital stat works better and takes no longer to install if you skip the fan switch mod?

Changing out old analog t-stat with a digital t-stat is simple mod and results in a tighter heat/cool cycle (+/- 1* vs 5* with analog)

Digital Modification

Seeing as I never used the 'low speed' fan setting for A/C I didn't bother with the install of toggle switch....just wired A/C Fan for high speed only
Is it time for your medication or mine?

I replaced the two Duo-Therm analog thermostats in our coach with Honeywell RTH2510B 7-day programmable thermostats. I modified them by adding a mini-toggle switch on the side to add the missing two-speed A/C fan control. They're powered by two AAA batteries that last around a year. I bought them at Home Depot for about $20 each. I've also seen them at Walmart for about the same price.
