Oxygenics Shower Question

Finally got around to installing a new shower head in the RV.

Based on everything that I read I went with:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F5MU5YY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Amazing! But I do have one question... when I use the shutoff button it shuts all the flow but a small trickle still comes out of the head. Is this normal?

This can happen if the shower head is far from the hot water source. The trickle of water is insufficient to keep the pipes and wand hot and it ends up cooling down. Still, I'm sure it's not as cold as it would have been and I'm sure it will heat up faster once you turn back on the full force..

Do you find the smaller head gives more water pressure over a larger shower head. I replaced my shower head when we first bought our used 2006 Georgetown 340 as the original was leaking when we flushed the RV antifreeze.

I was wonder if I need to go to a smaller shower head to get more pressure at the head (could this be a water restriction problem with a fixed regulator at the water hook up?)

Try the Oxygenics Shower head that everyone is referring to here. You'll have all the pressure you need from an RV shower head. Even in situations with low pressure, it amplifies the low pressure to make it more acceptable to use.

Oxygenetics Body Spa Shower Head

I was skeptical at first, but decided to try it. Best money I'd ever spent on a shower head. In fact, I'm probably going to buy a spare to have on hand as a back up, should anything happen to the one we currently use.

The Oxygenics shower head is great, their hose connections are of poor quality. This is a common issue. They crack at the collar and start squirting everywhere. I've replaced mine twice.

The good thing here is that they are standard 1/2 inch connectors,, You can get replacement hoses, at any hardware or home improvement store, or "Bath and shower" isle.

Those hoses come in plastic with plastic ends or in metal wrapped with brass ends...

I used the original metal/brass hose when I put in my Oygenics head, saving the Oxy hose as a spare.

Go with a metal hose.

And we have the Oxy shower head set up to a 1/4 valve. But, we never turn it 100% off. If you keep a small stream of warm water running, you stay much warmer in the shower. We only use the small stream to wash hair, lather body, rinse body. Then allow a little more stream for rinse hair.

Good luck.

If the water trickling out is an issue, carry an extra couple of gallons to dump into your fresh tank.

You will love that shower head.

Oxygenics is the best choice for an RV shower. Love the high pressure of the water. Mine trickles too.

I had the same experience with my Oxygenics. At first, I thought I had bought a lemon so I called Oxygenics. They told me it was normal and a "safety feature."

At first, I didn't like this new "feature" but now, I'm beginning to appreciate it because it keeps the water warm and allows me to easily take military showers while preserving the hot water. A true shut off valve might save a few cups of water, but if I'm that tight on water, I could always just shut off the water at the faucet.

There are many threads where the RV owner with a shut off valve that FULLY shuts off the flow complains of either a hot or icy blast when he turns it back on.

That trickle... Prevents that from happening.. I am not using the Oxy valve, I use an older one I got at Mennards... Works exactly the same way.. No hot/cold issues. Before that I used a different valve.. Had Hot/cold issues.

Excellent answer. Even in residential applications, many shower shut off valves will trickle a tiny bit, to let you know that, you've not shut the water to the shower head, off completely with the normal cold/hot control valves. It's just a reminder thing. And, some showers and valves will, for some odd reason, give you that blast of cold water if you've got wet, shut down, lathered up, then opened the shut off valve to rinse and, got a cold blast of water when in fact, the mixture is just as you left it.

So, sometimes, the trickling of the water, through a shut off valve that let's it trickle just a tiny bit, is enough to keep the mixture correct for the rinse operation.
