Pre Owned Luxury Coach showdown

I am finding this process of looking for our RV rather fun and interesting. As always...thank you for your feedback!

Which coach would you buy and why? I realize one is a 40' and the other a 45er. I am more looking for feedback on quality for the dollar.

Boy, you've come across some great coaches. I think in each case the choice would come down to just personal preference after viewing each one in person. Sometimes it just "feels right".

Just to throw a spanner in here (not trying to hijack the thread) , have you ever considered a Super C?

If I had the funds, I'd like one, but mostly my reasons are just that I think they look cool:B and engine maintenance would be a lot easier. The house part would be the same.

Edit: This one is a "bit" higher than what you said you wanted to spend, but this summer there was a real nice one (2009) in my area for around $150K.

I did take a look at them and they would IMHO have their place and duty in certain applications. Say if you were hauling a big toy trailer or something maybe? I think I would want the drone of the engine as far away as possible...kind of the benefit of a DP.

on a second note...I once lived in Winchester and one of my daughters was born in that hospital...small world!!!

I never considered the engine noise issue, good point. But it would still be a heck of a lot quieter than the gas Bounder I first had, plus I really really hated the doghouse!

Also been living the the Winchester area since I retired from the military (love it here and the hospital just underwent an $15 million expansion/renovation) but still have to work to make ends meet. However seriously considering downsizing and moving down east (NS or NB) due to cost of living here and then snowbirding.

Good luck on finding a MH, the dealer that I bought two MHs from (near Ottawa) always said that February was when he had his best sale prices and the most sales. Amazing how many people (me included) look at MHs when it is well below freezing!

Yes, the listing sheet for the Foretravel even says Cherry cabinets. And, that was one of the more popular interior wood choices. Have also seen some in Pecan.

The ad says stained cherry wood?

It does look like lightly stained cherry to me, certainly not pine.

don't you think you loose too much living space due to the nose of the truck out in front? looks like you forfeit 7' or so

The correct spelling is monocoque. And it makes a big difference. I side with those steering you in that direction.

Love my FT and I would only trade it for a Prevost of a certain year. I have 168k on mine now and a buddy has 309k on his. I would stay away from the cat engine too. A cummins or Detroit ard the way to go. You can still take your FT to the factory for a total remod. I have done that with the inside of mine. Factory support is great and the remodel shop is the busiest part. I made my 01 all electric this past year. The tanks and holding tanks a nd build quality are very good and the ride is great too.

Well, with over 10 years of ownership and hoping for another 10+ it's been a good MH. I've only had to fix one cabinet and that was because the LR slide hit the corner of it and after seven years of this it finally split. Cut a little off and glued it back together. Replaced the old non digital TVs and the sorry HVH sat dish which would not be required with a 06 or newer rig.
I love the solid handling of the 10 airbags... like Foretravel, Newell, & Prevost use for half the money. OK, half of Newell and Prevost.
So yes I'm biased towards the big Monaco products without a Cat engine. I hope the new Monaco can match the handling without using outboard airbags but I doubt it not that I'll be buying one.
I did not look at the floor plan of the EXE I linked above as I was more interested in finding a 07 with less the 20K miles for under $200K as an example of what's out there price wise. I also have some concerns about the full wall slides but then many said the same about the first slides... time will tell. Agree that there is too much black inside and out.
This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.

The Foretravel is a nice 10 airbag monocoupe MH but only 40'.
For $35K less than the Foretravel I'd go for a 45' 10 airbag monocoupe MH like this. I'm going to enjoy the Foretravel lover's comments.:B

It figures you'd recommend a Monaco...

Gotta say, I AGREE!

Not a lover of either but for me hands down the Foretravel between these two units. On the Executive i hate the paint colors, toilet out in the middle of nowhere and omg the bed plastered against the wall.
