Considering a 2013, 2014, 2015 Road Trek 210 Popular. Have a 190 popular now and am really satisfied with it except we just feel we want a little more space and storage. Am wondering if any on this forum have one and what experiences they have had...good or bad. Also interested in general observations. Thanking responders in advance. Larnbarb

I traded my 190 P for a 210 P. Features of the 210 that appealed to me most: Twin beds are a little wider, fridge is larger, aisle is wider, kitchen window is bigger. Not so good: low clearance was a problem when I drove in Mexico, & the 210 takes up a bit more parking space.

the full package is underhood generator-8 agm 6 volt batteries-5000watt inverter/charger-and solar panels. i suspect the underhood is a high output alternator but i don't know.

the key thing i that they have developed a contolling device that enables maximum battery charging from multiple sources.

the partial package is underhood generator-4 agm batteries-2500 watt inverter/charger and the special contol package. solar panels are an option.

Full e-trek on e-trek and CS adventurous as an option-partail on most of the other models

all these models with these packages require spwcial wiring and controllers developed by Roadtrek-they don't give out all info

thats all i know-you'd have to go to thier site and research

Are you sure it's the same on the Chevy Chassis 210? I don't see where you'd put so many batteries, or the solar. But I do see an option for the underhood generator.

the partial e-trek package that goes on the chevy models puts 2 more agm batteries under the floor in front of the gas tank-you get no access to them from outside the coach-i've talked to roadtrek. their partial e-trek package(they don't call it that by the way) is underhood generator,2500 watt inverter,4 total 6 volt agm batteries option GU. the solar panels are separate. this can go in 190,210,ranger. it can also go in some of the sprinter models but i don't know where the extra batteries go on sprinters-i think under the rear-i'm only looking at chevy ranger-thats why i know

ps i went to site and looked at build-the confusion is because you can get 2 additional batteries without the underhood generator.you can get solar panels themselves or solar panels and extra batteries. the GU option that gets underhood generator includes the 2 extra batteries and 2500 watt inverter as i said. their build menu does not really explain this-i had to e-mail them

also i asked about battery access to those 2 extra batteries-Roadtrek sahys they are AGM and need no maintenance-in the rare occasion they need access dealer would have to do from underneath-just like getting access to other things underneath the van.

Roadtrekputs solar panels onany of their models-they are all not the same though-different combinations depending on what roof.

one more thing i forgot. onthe Ranger the extra batteries go in front of gas tank-however the 210 has the rear storage container. inthe sprinters some batteries go there and maybe on 210 they go there also

go to roadtrek and build a 210-it lets you pick options including the solar panels separatley

Larnbarb-get the 210 but with the 'underhood generator"- think you will find it AOK

Does that essentially work the same way as on the MB? I'm envisioining it's just an extra alternator. It must be more than that, considering the option price, no?

We looked long and hard at the Navion 24G and just wanted a Ford or Chevy chassis, not MB, for a lot of reasons that have been discussed ad infinitum on these forums. We have had three Bs and three Cs over a thirty year period and the fit and finish on the RT 210 was the best we owned. That being said, with the changes in ownership of the company I hope the quality stays OK. For years, the family that started and owned RT just kept the same basic models and improved them a little every year. Now, there are a lot of different models both on Sprinter and Chevy chassis.

I will add that the Chevy 6L has pulled us over most of the really tough and high passes in the Rockies with that 210P fully loaded with all our gear and it performed well for us. If we didn't love our new Phoenix Cruiser 2350 so much, we would buy another 210P in a heartbeat.

Thanks PSW for your very positive comments. We have looked at the Navion IQ, pleasure Way pursuit, leisure travel vans, and so on. All are really beautiful but a little pricey for us, and just a little bigger than we think we like. Also I prefer to stay away from duel wheels.
I'm surprised I haven't got more responses to my post. Seems there are not too many people that own 210 Populars.
Thanks again for your very positive input.

Thanks Gspeed.. We like the Chevy... Have had no trouble with it. Also gets great gas mileage. If I fill up on gas just before interstate, and drive 410 miles on the interstate, I have gotten 17+ miles per gallon. It seems that Chevys are being phased out but I don't know why. Oh by the way I only drive 60 miles an hour on the interstate.
Thank you for sharing. Could you tell me very briefly about one or two issues that you had? Thanks

Until we bought a C last fall, we had enjoyed our 2007 Roadtrek 210P for over seven years and prior to that had a 190P for many enjoyable years.

We loved moving from the aisle shower to the enclosed wet bath. We mostly boondock and found the extra room in the 210 very nice for us. In all the years we had our 210, the only problems were minor and it never went back to the dealer. Same thing for the Chevy....we had it serviced regularly but it never went back to the dealer, so we had great luck with the rig. We found the standing room, extra storage and the few inches of extra width made a big difference for us. The drawback, obviously, is that the 210 takes up a little more room to park than the 190. If you look at the dimensions of the width and length (with Continental kit) of the 210, it is not that different than some small Class Cs. We loved our Roadtrek 210 and found it really great for two people and Sally Ann the Wonder Dog. We moved on to a C just to try something different and we find we tend to camp longer and travel less now that we are retired.

I have had a 2006 210 Popular for 3 years. I like the size and layout very much. The bathroom layout convinced my wife that a B would work.
There are some things that I have had problems with, both in construction and design. If I were looking for a new one at this time I would wait to see the new designs that should be coming out on the new Ford and Chrysler van bodies. While I like the Chevy chassis it is an older design that I suspect GM may drop in the next few years.
