RV did not sell

Hello. In my last post I had really thought the RV was going to be bought but the deal was not accomplished. A lot of buyers want the RV to be perfect for very little money. So I will be driving back to Ontario at the end of this month in the RV and attempt to sell the RV in Ontario. I have learned a lot about the sales side of RVing and it is very frustrating to say the least. At least I will not be living in it full time when the RV is up for sale which I think it will make it a lot easier for me and the RV sits in front of my house. My belief is, and I cross my fingers, that the RV will not break down on the drive home and it will be smooth driving. Thank you for reading.

"A 21 year old RV is not exactly an easy item to sell." Correct, Bumpy.

Bingo - you can sell ANYTHING QUICKLY, with the right price.
The right price for the buyer, not the seller.

When we were selling our old coach, I really had to swallow hard and realize it wasn't worth what *I* thought it was. It was worth what the BUYERs thought.

It came down to how badly and how quickly I wanted to sell it.

Sharing a bit more - we had a handshake deal on selling the old coach. Our lightly used coach showed up as a good deal, so we bought the new one, knowing the old coach was sold.

You guessed it - they backed out of the deal and my pucker moment was owning two RVs for some unknown time.

I knocked another $2K off the old one and aggressively pushed it. Thankfully it sold within two weeks.

Price, price, price.

I've always felt that it is the competition that determines the value of a item for sale. Good luck.

I sold two coachesin the last 8 months. Price them right and advertise them in the right locations. If you have lookers and no offer you are too high.

Price it right and looking good all around helps. We sold our travel trailer for more than what we paid for it last month.

Sometimes it takes a bit to sell and older coach. You are right people are not in the market for something that is "not exactly a good deal". Fixer uppers are one thing, scared of it is another.

Not sure what you mean by perfect. I don't think anybody expects a 21 year old coach to look like the show room. Also remember a lot of people when they come look try to make a "case" about the RV and will "insult" it the entire time to get the price down.

Price it right - the best advice I can give.
4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.

Anything will sell if it's priced to sell. If it's not reliable and had issues and it's old, the price needs to reflect that. If folks are looking for perfect then maybe you have it priced where a perfect RV would be.

If you're crossing your fingers that it won't break down, and complaining folks don't want to pay enough, then perhaps you're overpriced for what you're selling.

Sorry to hear the sale wasn't completed. I've been lucky selling....not good at selling.

My motto is, "If it's priced right, it'll sell". Perhaps you'd have more luck selling if you didn't have so many posts about how many states your RV got towed through and how you've been having so many problems with it. Sure would scare me away.

Right now is the best time to start advertising your RV in Ontario. Get it out there before all the rest come out of storage in spring, and attract those potential buyers that have been dreaming all winter about an RV. Its important to detail it as best you can, but just price it right and get it on the market before anyone else. You have an advantage; its all ready to go right now, doesn't need to be de-winterized before anyone can see it.
Wait until later in the spring, and you're stuck with it.
Good Luck!
