Simple question?

I've found a 2003 Monaco that meets our criteria but we have only seen pictures. It's powered by a Cummins 400hp engine and has 125000 miles on it. Price is mid 60's without any negotiating. It's a 2 day drive to see it so I was just wondering if it would be worth the drive to see it. The 400hp is one of the attractions. What do you think?
Thanks.

A little more information about the 2003 Monaco. It's listed as a Dynasty Princess 36. I couldn't find info on it so I emailed the seller and they said NADA info was available under 2002 stats but I couldn't find a 36' model. The 400 hp and 36' length were the reason I was looking at it. I'll be pulling somewhere around 5 - 6 thousand lbs trailer into some tight spaces. Thanks for all of the responses, I'm still shopping and in no real hurry.

there is a HUGE range between the top end and the bottom end of the models available from Monaco in 2003. knowing which model would be helpful. With a 400 it should be at least in the middle of the range of models.

Simple answer, make time to go and look if this rig has your attention. I didn't spend near as much for my current coach but drove three times, 400 miles, each way to inspect and negotiate before driving the coach home on the third trip.

No substitute for your eye balls and prospective. Professional inspections will give you the black and white but only you ca decide to buy or not.

Find a shop near by and have them inspect chassis and running gear.

Impossible to tell from a distance.. I've seen rigs listed as in "Good" condition and...Well... Good for a person who wants really bad to learn RV SERVICE and have something to practice on perhaps.

And I've seen rigs advertised as "GOOD" that look like they were driven ... Very carefully... Off the showroom floor last week.

I've seen rigs sitting so long that they needed new tires straight off. Looked like they were still IN the showroom.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

You won't know how it looks until you see it in person.
Time for a road trip.
A friend in Pennsylvania sold his fairly new Bounder to a person from Colorado.
I think he made two trips from Colorado.
If you are interested in something, go see it. It's the only way you will know for sure.

Hire an insector or book a flight and a cheap rental.if you want to spend less time. In the end the maybe 4/500 you spend if it’s interesting to you could save you a bundle, or confirm it’s just what you wanted I wouldn’t worry about the mileage but I would the wear and condition of the rest .. for that you need to look.

It would be cheaper to hire an inspector. Go to NRVIA and see if there's one listed in the area.

Simple question, simple answer...'depends'. Depends on the model, size, tire age, appliances, genset usage interior layout etc.etc. Yeah! you'll have to go see it and, depending on the above, determine whether it's for you or not....given the info you've provided, no one can give you a definitive answer. Sometimes I think mine is under-powered.....Dennis

The Monaco I have had to have all the bushings in the rear suspension replaced right after I bought it.....problem didn't show up until I drove in the mountains. Pretty expensive.
