Slideout noise while underway

I recently acquired a new 2013 Winnebago/Itasca Sunova and am experiencing loud squeaking and rubbing noises from the driver side slideout while underway. The noise is directly behind the driver and seems to happen at all speeds. The slideout rubber gasket seems properly compressed with the slide in but not sure if it is an adjustment problem or something else. Thought I'd check the forum prior to asking the dealer to trouble shoot it.

Never a squeak from our Winnebago - multiple trips as far as Alaska and thru the SW. Now have a Tiffin and the squeaking is incessant - drives us crazy. Now at the dealers for that and a couple of other problems. They supposedly fixed this once before - not!

Check to see if it is the Slide Cover and/or the anti billow mounts for the slide cover. Slightly extend the room 1 inch and then test drive, to see if the noise disappears.

SLIDE OUT SEALS NEVER SQUEAK OR MAKE RUBBING NOISES.

The usual cause is metal on metal or plastic on metal. Doug

Doug, that is a bold statement, but WRONG. My slide out seals did squeak and rubber lubricant stopped the noise. Perhaps on some slides it may be metal on metal, but NOT ALWAYS.

Bold statement? I have over 25 years of working on all different slides for such noises. NEVER have I had a rubber seal cause a problem like the poster stated on a slide. Just like posters that state they thing their entry door seal is making such a noise--NEVER. While you may have experienced it, the odds are it is NOT a seal and why waste time looking at a seal when the real odds are it is not the seal. BTW, I have NEVER had to do any slide seal lube on all the slides over the years. All you have to do is keep them clean. Doug

Take it back and have it checked while it's still under warranty. I just had the bedroom slide rebuilt and the full wall slide hydraulic motor, pump and reservoir replaced. The bed slide was constructed improperly at the factory and the full slide hydraulic motor was in the process of failing which it ultimately did while at the factory.

If there is a major problem you don't want to experience it on the road or away from home.

What type of slide? I have seen a lot of complaints on Thor units. Mine does the same thing. Sounds like 2 ballons rubbing together. I have had it in the shop, lubed etc, still does it. talked to some folks with a Palazzo with the same issue who had a factory rep come out and can't figure it out. I would love to find an answer to this one. I have tried a slide lock and it does not help so I don't think it's the seals, at least the exterior ones. My bet is something rubbing on the inner workings. lube will not fix the issue.

The rubber could be dry. They make a spray lubricant specifically for slide out rubber gaskets. Any Camping World would have it as well as most RV shops. It can also be ordered online.
