Anybody running super singles on their class A???

For those of you unfamiliar with super singles they are a single WIDE tire/rim that replaces the duals on the rear axle(s) seen on some of the trucks on our highways.
They are very efficient BUT if you have a blowout your unable to limp to a station.

Sounds interesting to me. In Mexico, most states prohibit the use of duals on certain avenues and bridges.

We are considering a Class B or small C which might come with duals and this would be a great solution.

This is nothing new and I am not sure why you think it is. A friend of mine who was on the RV vendor circuit had super singles installed on his coach back in the early 2000's.
By the way, I read the exact post that I responded to and I responded with the exact question that I would ask of him. Just because he has not gotten stranded yet when his one and only tire goes flat, it's highly likely that it could. I have had 2 flats on one of my duals and in both cases I was able to drive to a location where I could get the one repaired (or both replaced) without having to call road service.
If you think everyone should read every post from every poster before responding to a single post then you have way more time on your hands than I do.
If you don't like me or my posts, please feel free to block me so you don't have to ever deal with my responses in the future.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.

...If you'd read more before speaking, you'd see that Super Singles are hardly 'new' for this guy. He's been running them for several years and has been very happy with them. He's already heard from all the nay-sayers, and addressed all their old, tired points like this one very well.

Personally, I respect TDINewGuy for bravely trying something new on an RV that nobody else seems to want to, and that it has worked out well for him. More power to him. 🙂

FWIW, I looked into super singles once, as I was intrigued by the idea. Found that for my coach and its 19.5" tires, super singles are not a realistic option. They don't make a rim or super single tire that would fit with mine, at least not without some major modifications I don't want to do.

OK....63x11=693 per day or 180,180 per year based upon a 5 day work week.

Sunday night I logged 597 in 10.5 hours...which is an average speed of 56.85 miles (truck does 75, but I was heavy--the road was hilly).

Reality is in a 70 mph zone, the average creepy cop will call B.S. if you log much over an average of 660 miles per day...or 60 mph That is still 660x5x52= 171,600

Even at a modest 500 per day, 5 days a week, being run by MANY, MANY shuttle drivers, in day cabs, with a reset every weekend run 2500 a week. 2500 X 52 weeks equals 130,000.

When being paid by the mile, the only way to make any money....is to keep the driver's door closed.

Teams can do 250,000 miles a year. Trucks get worn out real fast!

I would think most of those OTR trucks have sleepers, so a team could keep that truck running burning up the road.

Most companies want you to drive A minimum of 12,000 per month. I take it easy and do 10,000. But it depends on what you are hauling and your lanes. Moat used fleet trucks will show close to 150,000 per tear. Regardless no MH comes close to the miles driven on a big rig.

How would any truck driver run 150,000 miles a year. I had a Peterbilt with 500HP and I could only run 130,000 legally a year. I drove 75 MPH out west and Schneider and Swift only do 63.
