Thinking of moving from 5th Wheel to Class A

We are thinking of switching to a Class A (used) from our current Arctic Fox 27-5L. Wondering how much we need to spend to get a dependable Coach? We've had a Class C in the past and don't care for the front bed. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks for all the info. everyone, and thanks for the photo, David.
I think we are looking for a smaller Class A. Maybe 33' to 25' or so.
Our budget is tight, as we will use it primarily for a few round trips to the Big City, 1200 miles each time, and maybe do a little camping, and we will not be towing a smaller vehicle.

Run from the Alfa's. You'll find them cheap, and there's a reason for that.

Just for general information.... HR (Holiday Rambler) is made by Monaco and for all intents and purposes is a sister of not only Monaco, but also Beaver and Safari. You can get just about an identical unit in each of those brands. The same holds forth for Winnebago and Itasca.

Allegro is one model made by Tiffin. As I mentioned previously, just about (if not all) makes have several different models to choose from. From gassers to Fred's to DPs. Some even cross over into the Class C, 5'er, and TT worlds.

If you're talking about a diesel pusher, I'd plan on spending at least $70k for something half way decent. That would be in the 10 year old range. A really nice coach in that area is going to be closer to $100 - $110k.

"Dependable"....that's a very objective word, especially in the rv world. I think you just need to visit rv dealers and find one that meets your floor plan likes and wallet. Price will vary depending upon age, make, model, condition, etc. As mentioned, just about all mh mfg'ers produce a variety of different "levels" of quality and price.

Sorry, can't offer more for you.

You need to make a list of what you want you want.
Genset, washer/dryer/ electric water heater and of course sleeping accommodations.
Some can find good deals now, but as spring comes they will disappear.
Are you going to try to sell your current rig or trade it in at dealer?

It's not necessariy about how much you spend for quality IMO. Top brands have entry level coaches. Depending on your price point you might even be able to get something newish in your price range.

Price really starts hiking the more luxury items you get. Your 5th might ultimately be outfitted with more of those things than your first Class A.

Again entirely depends on your price point, but as far as quality goes you have lots of choices.
