I have some questions and rather than clogging up other threads, I thought this would be a suitable place to discuss all things 19G. I know there are a few of you on here who currently own or previously owned a 19G, and I imagine there are others like myself that have some questions.

As STEVE-OTR did on his 28A. By accessing the space under his jackknife sofa by opening it up.

I ended up removing the seat (unscrewing it from the wooden seat from), and there was a box under that. I 'punched' a hole in that box to find an empty void, so I jigsawed out an opening as wide as I could from the front and remounted everything else. Now the cat has a way to get to his litter box which fits like a glove.

That's fair / You're right.

It'll be a good spot for the kitty shitter and later in life shoes (cat ain't gettin' younger). I'll probably remove the seat to try and make it easier to hack up. I am no carpenter, but I have friends that are, FORTUNATELY. I can measure 10 times and still make a wrong cut (facepalm).

Some examples are,over cab window,a family member has one of a early ones a 28A with a window,also the rear window and the window in the door.

Some things they fixed or added on the newer ones.One is the storage space for the dinette post under the front dinette seat. Also the older ones have a solid bed over the drivers area where the newer ones have a fold up bed.

Their builds are well thought out to be spartan and low maintenance, reducing downtime to keep them on the road making money.

Nothing you said justifies why they fully closed off that area underneath that cushion; otherwise, I agree with your thoughts. Yes, things changed over time to reduce replacement costs and to increase functionality/reliability; however, the lack of access to this storage spot does neither. ...or maybe it does, and I'm the doofus.

Welcome to the rv world. Sometimes they have to remove an entire slideout to swap out a fridge.

Lol, out of sight out of mind, I guess. The ironic thing is that older models had access to this storage, and newer models don't (per the CA rep). Facepalm

Welcome to the rv world. Sometimes they have to remove an entire slideout to swap out a fridge.

Consider yourself lucky the shower head is not tucked away under that seat. :B

I did not think I would answer my own question, but I was told by a CA rep that in the newer 19G models (2013ish and newer?) the seat is bolted down to the floor from underneath the vehicle.

To get access to the space under the cushion, you have to remove the entire seat compartment (at least the first time - rig it up yourself to have it removable thereafter without having to pull the whole thing).

I said the guy, "Well, what's in that area that is so critical that you've limited access to it? In other words, should I not bother since there's no space left under the cushion?"

His response, "There's nothing in there. Go for it."

Let me start with the first question.

I have a question about the little seat next to the main door entry to the right if you are stepping into the cabin area. I have seen in a video where someone is able to access whatever is under the seat cushion by pulling out the back pad then pulling off the cushion itself.

However, as much as I try, that seat back isn't moving, at all. Clearly I am missing something here...is it bolted down somewhere? Is there some secret methodology required to pull it up/out. Do I have to remove the lower curtain rail?

What's the trick?
