TV/DVD replacement

Hi all. Just a quick question...I am looking to replace the TV/DVD combo in our 2008 Sunseeker with a slightly larger LED TV and a separate DVD player. Can I just buy any DVD player? I'm mainly concerned about skipping while driving. Do most DVD players have a good buffer in them these days or should I look for one that is specific to an RV environment, if there is such a thing? Thanks in advance...

I bought a 18.5" LED RCA TV/DVD combo that has power cords for 12V or 120V. Works well but not sure about when we're moving. Screen angle doesn't seem to be an issue.

+1 what eric said. Viewing angle matters.

Do not get the Skyworth DVD/TV combo that might show up if you do a search on Google for 12v TV/DVD combos. If you get slightly off angle of the screen, it will go black. I sadly own one.

In fact, before you buy a TV with or without the DVD, make sure to pick it up in your hands and tilt it every which way. Some will stay bright and clear and some will get very dark. There is no rime or reason to this phenomenon. It has nothing to do with LED, LCD or price. Some TVs are good, others are not. Therefore, do not buy one on line unless you've seen it in person, which is actually kind of a crappy thing to do anyway

We bought a plain old $40 Sony (I think) from BJ's, and we also use an inverter when driving (though not pure sine wave but it gets the job done) - nearly 4000 miles with no skipping and no complaints from our 9 year old ๐Ÿ™‚

We also bought these: Wireless Headphones and they work like a charm to allow DH and me to listen to whatever we want in the cockpit and not compete with The Avengers for the 300th time.
Cheers!

I recently purchased an Emerson 19" TV/DVD Combo from Walmart. It works great. I'll provide a link.Emerson 19" TV/DVD Combo from Walmart

Thanks Roy. Does it work okay when driving down the road. i.e., no skipping?

I just got me one of those $30 DVD players from WALMART. Works great... Been running for us for the past 5 years...

Both my VIZIO HDTV and DVD player are stand-alone 120VAC models. We use a small Pure Sine Wave INVERTER to run them off the battery when camping off the power grid.
