Any suggestions to replace my cabin water pump for water supply in my 1998 Fleetwood Flair Class A motor home? Presently, my original equipment Shurflo water pump 2088-403-144 or 244 is no longer manufactured.

Buy the pump that fits your needs but don't buy a Seaflo pump, Chinese junk,

Any being offered for sale are NOS (Normal old stock----been on shelf for years)

Shurflo 4008 or 4048 are direct replacements

Goggle 'Shurfo XXXX' for lowest pricing

Also check ebay. Be sure to buy the BRAND, not Chinese knockoffs - on these pumps, the knockoffs are not worth it.
4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.

Water pumps have several parameters you need to consider

Inlet and outlet.. Normally 1/2 inch IPT but plastic.. Most all are the same, Optional is a barbed connector but they make adapters that go to 1/2 inch.

Pressure.... When I replaced my 45 PSI I went with a 55 PSI.. Keep it 55 PSI or less

GPM.. I went from 2 to 2.5 when I upgraded

Mounting.. 4 Screws into the wood base,, Need not be identical

POWER.. Ok, so it draws a bit more.. NOTE Water pump controllers come in two types. One is electronic and the higher power may burn it out, Mine is switches.

The moral: Do not worry about "Same part number identical replacement) get one that has at least the GPM capacity and is 55 PSI or less and you will be very happy.. Mine cost me $0.00 after Swag Buck gift cards discount.

I fixed my 20 yo Shurflo pump that was leaking around the pump gasket area. Took the entire thing apart. Mostly it just needed a good cleaning. The weird 3 lobe gasket in the pump area was still good, but had gunk on it, cleaned it. The motor needed some work but not bad.

So like jyrostng says...try fixing it.

try fixing it, you can't hurt it, it's already broke.

Just buy another Shurflo water pump, does not really matter what model, just make sure it has the same connections as yours, the year and model of your RV does not really matter.
