Went on another weekend trip.. after a front alignment and
2 new front tires (ruined one on hittiing pot holes on road repairs I suspect from my last trip)

Joined Good Sam's Club road side assist after finding out CAA only will do tows and any phone calls to ask questions (ie can they send someone out to look at my broken wiper) counts as a service... wow...
Good Sam's road side had a special on for $99.00 for 2 years and they will send service out to me, as well as I can call and ask questions about any issues I may have or need (ie where to find a place to fix my wiper)... pretty great deal if it is what it says.

On the way home heard what sounded like an open window sound on drivers side...
got louder as I neared home.
Went into Speedy Auto Glass next morning (mom and pop shop in town..real honest people) and they pointed out that my driver's windshield had come away
from the seals and needed to be repaired...
said could have fallen out while I was driving.. eeek.

thankfully
they said it was only a $200.00 repair and they can do it on Tuesday.
I leave for Romulous NY for 7 days with a friend to a dog show
... . phew so glad i checked it out..

Pinched (and cut wire) on my 50 amp twist lock cord in my hydrolic levellers... so that will be $265.00 to replace or just get a short extension for now at $139.00...

I have a leak coming in a corner and RV place suggests it is
my roof of the push outs... no time to check that out before my big trip ๐Ÿ˜ž

Now if I can figure out why I don't have hot water... I will be golden. I can't remember where the bipass valve for winterizing is... as I wanted to check that (read on a forum to look at that).

I sure hope this learning curve cost ends soon..
I did have a great time enjoying the luxery of staying at a dog show
and so did my dogs... was a great weekend other than the repairs..
I think I'm getting the gyst of RV'ing finally ๐Ÿ˜‰

Really excited about this weekend's dog show...
maybe someone with a Class A will be there to give me some tips..

You take care SRT. Hope you get another mild winter while you're in the study.

We're on high ground also, but even then our lake came up 10 feet. Thank goodness the place is 12-14 feet up a hill. First time in all these years I was ever happy about that.

As far as this thread goes, just moved some paper work out to the MH that we'll be needing while on the road. Put on new tabs for the MH and toad. Fired up the furnace, water pump, hot water heater, and checked the plumbing for leaks. So far so good.

I also sent our new route from MS S&T into the Garmin GPS only to find out that my new laptop with Windows 7 doesn't have the needed Garmin USB drivers. Geezzzz, like there isn't enough to do already.

I 303'd the tires.. after I washed them of course. They look great.. I'm wondering how often they should be done. Apparently this is the right stuff to use for UV protection and moisture retention...

What a season we had! First the floods, then the record high temps, and now this cold windy fall.

Today I'm starting to pack the Class A for the trip south for the winter. Tomorrow I'll change oil, grease, air up tires, and generally check things over.

You can always join the flock you know ๐Ÿ™‚ after last winters gentle temps I'm thinking this winter will even up the score in the northland.

Hopefully we'll ride that "Indian Summer" all the way down south, but I'm not counting on it.

The June flood was something else! Glad we were on high ground. The sump pump was sure working hard for a while.

You guys have fun down south. I'm in a drug study for my lungs so I kinda stuck up here for the duration (study has been going on for 6 years so far. They are bringing in more people to keep the FDA happy.). But we did spend one winter in Mesa 7 years ago. So we continue to "embrace" winter.

We are getting ready to go to the balloon fiesta in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Right now we are still in the bay area of northern California, but will be leaving in few days.

Well

Yesterday while wallycamping the night before a day of cfb tailgating was planned and after my slides were out on curbside...and after my 12v system totally shut down leaving my house essentially dead in the water...slides out couldn't get in, no fridge, no hvac, no lights, no water even on Genny power

I...
Used jumper cables to bypass the unlatching 12v relay
And used a 12v tractor battery to hook it up with gator clips directly to the water pump since no matter how I tried I could not get 12v from the house batts to it (still at a loss for this one!)

Today I ordered a new 01-00055-000 relay

I have noticed the rear of the curbside slide creeping out on me for the last couple of trips. I did some troubleshooting a couple of weeks ago and determined the rear hydraulic cylinder was leaking internally past the seals. I ordered a replacement cylinder and it showed up on Thursday. I finally got around to replacing it today. Not as bad of a job as I thought it would be. Took me all of about 3 hours and part of that was a friend stopped by and BSed for a bit.
