Today was just life as usual...thaw and dry ice off the front windshield, keep humidifier filled and running, and pushed snow around the barnyard so maybe when our high winds come tonight with more snow...we'll have less to push tomorrow.
About 2 weeks ago we finally reinstalled our toilet stable enough to tackle complete floor replacement later on. It's going to be a huge job that will require alot of work down below as well as from inside to remove the rotted floor so we have elected to have the pros do it. Getting down to work on the floor and in that bay aren't something that is comfortable to do any more so...we'll let the youngns' do it! We will replace the vinyl tile ourself and may just do the whole rig. We'll see - don't expect to get into any of that until late spring or summer.
We took our water hoses in the house to thaw and warm up so we can fill with water tomorrow and will warm up the hose we drain our grey tank with too. If needs be will dump the black tank with the blue boy. It's a regular routine we do year round and have learned very well all the steps to accomplish it in very cold weather. We load our blue boy into a 2 wheel trailer and pull it to the septic system pipe with the ATV so its really a pretty easy job. We learned one secret with dealing with a large full blue boy. They are rather hard to handle with just 2 wheels and the tow hook that came with it was just about worthless since we both grab on to drag to the dump trailer -- we use to hay hooks, hooked into the handle to lift and drag. Two people can easily do the job. Since we live with a hay hook in our hand to feed cattle daily...works for us!
For now we are just buzzing around playing in the snow. Today we took a ride down the road on teh ATVs with face mask up, bomber hat on, and of course insulated coveralls -- great fun! We are going down to the teens below zero this week so ...will be more fun ahead.
I'll post a couple images of our beautiful snow scenes after I have them downloaded off the camera!
