what is the leaking faucet in the middle of my DP

this was only our second trip in our new DP. There is a faucet below the undercarriage about right in the middle of the coach. Doesn't smell so I don't think it is any kind of oil. Only thing I can think of is it a drain for the moisture accumulated in the air compressor and if so do I need to do anything with it?

thanks for all the great help - I think you got it. It is on the bottom of the fresh water tank. Why would they have a separate drain for the fresh water tank? I would have thought the low point drains would cover it. I turned off the faucet and the water stopped.
Low point will only drain the lines while a separate drain for the tank ensures you get every bit of water beyond what the pump will pull out. Also makes it easier to drain after sanitizing.

Camping buddy's fifth wheel has what looks like a 1 1/2" drain valve. Dumps the tank in seconds. I have a 3/8" petcock to drain my tank. I open it and come back the next day to finish what I was doing.

Haven't heard of too many that require you to crawl under the RV. My low point fresh water drain is right inside my basement wet compartment.

Fresh water tank drain? May not be closed tight?

It sounds like the overflow for your fresh water tank. The tank will sometimes drip for quite sometime after the fresh water tank is filled. I believe that someone installed the faucet to prevent the water from running all over the ground after the fresh water tank is filled.

it does look like a regular faucet. It is not the AC drain. If it was to wash your DP I would assume it would be more readily available than requiring me to go all the way under the chassis to connect a hose.??? It has stopped running after about 20 minutes and about a 1/2 gallon of water.

AC condensate drain. You will see the same thing under the front of your car.

Does it look like a regular hose faucet? I have one in my coach where I can connect a garden hose and wash my coach or use it for anything else.

Is there actually a valve there or just an open hose/pipe end...

thanks for the quick response - it is not the AC or the water tank low point drain. The DP is a 2014 Coachman Sportscoach 361 BH. It has a 300 hp Cummins. Hope this helps. It did not happen in filling the water tank I only carry 5 gallons in that tanks. It happened when we arrived home and shut down.
