When To Sell

We have reached the point with my wife's health that we have decided it is time to give up our motorhome as it sits idle almost all of the time. Should I go ahead and put it on the market now, or wait until Spring? I can't decide which would be the best thing to do. Thanks to all for your great advice in the past.

My wife can't travel by car. The reason we got the RV was so she could travel some.

We stayed at one RV park in Georgia and while we were parked, a really nice DP came in and the young driver set everything up. Pretty soon his wife showed up in their car and dropped of his parents, who actually owned the RV.
They were going to stay there for a couple of weeks but they could no longer drive the coach.
Talking with the son, he regularly drives the RV to different nearby RV parks and gets everything all set up for his parents to stay in their coach. Sounded like a nice solution to a problem we will all face in the future.

Sooner the better as you won't have to sit there and see it anymore.... Also, don't give up! My grandparents when they couldn't RV anymore traveled still by vehicle on shorter day trips. 🙂
4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.

X2. Sold mine recently on RVT.com (free) in about 2 weeks. Price it fairly, document all the features, supply lots of pictures (photobucket with a link from RVT). RVT allows a limited number of pictures.

Craigslist is also free and allows more pictures.

Sorry to hear of the medical issues.

I'd begin advertising after the holidays. People are spending their money in other ways at this time of year. Buyers get wary if the things are advertised for a long period of time. They think something is wrong with it. Wait until January.

I'm sure you've had some good trips in the past. We'll all live with memories at some point. Good luck!

Since there are several places where you can basically list it for sale for free, go ahead and list it now and set your price. If a buyer comes along great.
I wish the best for your wife and your next great adventure.

Just my opinion....I would put it on the market now...someone might be looking for something to go south for the winter in. You can always try it for a month or two, if no response, then take a break and do it again the spring. You might find a buyer now and your expenses, i.e. insurance, tag,, etc. Would be gone.

Sorry to hear you feel it is best to get out of it now. Know it will be hard for me to make that decision when the time comes. Good luck.
