I have an 86 Georgie boy trying to restore. Engine only fires once with starter fluid. No gas to carb. No fuel to fuel pump. Checked in line filter and seems okay. What am I missing?

Maybe something is wrong with the pump system? Is there some kind of obstruction, or air gets in because of which it cannot capture fuel

I just looked up fuel pump for 7.4 1975-1986 mechanical after electric out side fuel pump on frame rail. So this is just some thing to think of. I guess things to think of early model year.

1. Electric fuel pump hooked up to 12VDC.
2. 5 gallon can of fresh fuel.
3. Enough fuel hose to run from fuel can to pump and from pump to carb.

Hook it all up and see if it fires up. If it does, reroute the hose from the can to your fuel tank, mount the fuel pump on a rail somewhere and go camping. It's not rocket science. You only need the in tank fuel pump if you want to use the factory stuff. Bypass that and mount a new pump elsewhere where it's accessible....Dennis

Check the fuel pump fuse.
Check for fuel pump relay operation. Relay should charge the line to the mechanical pump. Take line loose at fuel pump and cycle key a couple times to see if electric pump gets fuel to mechanical pump line.
Have helper turn key on while you listen at tank for fuel pump operation.

GM chassis's also has fuel pump in tank.
Check under dash fuse panel for fuse.
Should have fuel pump relay. It is located on left side of engine compartment on brace. It should energize for about 10 seconds when key is turned on, then drops out.
Fuel pump power is routed through the oil pressure sending unit. Mounted on left side of engine toward the front at bottom of block. It supplies power when the engine gets oil pressure.
What chassis do you have? Ford or Chev?

Fuel pressure. Now you have to figure out why. If it's a Ford, most likely it has an in tank pump. It really helps if you state what chassis/engine you have. The coach builder could have used 3 different chassis builders in that era.
