Winnabago Via

Anyone out there having any experience with the Winnabago Via. If you own one would you reccomend this RV as one to buy. What are some Pros and Cons with this RV.If your MSRP has a sticker price of $138,000.00 what % should I be looking to knock off of the price.

Had a MH the same size Pleasureway on the Sprinter platform . Was fun but not for long term use or constant travel .

Sprinter is a prima donna vehicle - special oil hard to find just every where .
Turbo hoses blow off constantly - to the point they have after market hose adapters .
When you need work on it Mercedes Benz is a money hole .

If I had to do it all over and wanted small again ( which I never will ) I'd look at a class C or super c like Dynaquest which IMO is tem times the coach but more expensive for sure

We are back in Southern California, put 4500 miles on our trip home. I can say without hesitation the Via is the best motorhome we have ever owned. The coach is a dream to drive and put together perfectly for the two of us, (we downsized from a 38' Monaco). Got 15.4 MPG on the trip, punch list consisted of 3 items, the most severe being the water tank would siphon to a little under half if I filled it all the way. Local dealer fixed everything in two days. We put the HWH levelers on at the factory in Iowa, best 4 grand ever spent. Came back on interstate 8, worst climbs in the state, coach held 50mph no problem, definitely not underpowered.
Television and entertainment systems all worked well, going to look at a Winegard Direct TV system in the next couple of weeks. Lichstinn was great to work with, price was right, we are happy campers!

Hope you are still monitoring this thread. We just looked at a 2010 Via today and have some of the same questions that previous poster had.

How is your MPG so far? No issues yet of being underpowered? Do you tow and if so, what? Any problems with carrying capacity?

We are looking at downsizing from our 33' that we full timed in for 5 years. Now have a winter base in AZ and thinking of something smaller for the shoulder seasons.

We are downsizing from a 38 Monaco to a Via 25R, we pick up the coach at Lichstinn in Iowa next month, stickered at 139 paying 104 and having HWH put the jacks on on the way home. Have driven a bunch of coaches in selecting this one and it will be our 4th diesel MH. Definitely not underpowered looking forward to packing the new coach.

Totally under powered & horribly over priced! Only 14 mpg? Look into the View, class 'C' on the same chassis at 20 mpg.

Yes, the Via is built on a Sprinter but its a class A full body.

Our best friends and travel buddies just traded their 2010 Via for a Winnebago Vista. We traveled with them quite a bit and I'm very familiar with the coach.

Pros:
1. It's very compact and reasonably easy to drive.
2. It makes good use of all available space.
3. Good fuel Milage with averages in the 12-14 range towing.

Cons:
1. No leveling system from Winnebago although HWH builds a system for it.
2. Fuel tank is very small for traveling.
3. Fresh water & waste water tanks are very small.
4. Very limited storage capacity and CCC.

If smallest possible size and good fuel economy in a class A are your primary concerns then the Via is a good choice. From a living and traveling point of view it has some issues.
