New Suburban Stove Burns Rice, Looking for replacement.

We just traded in our 2008 5th wheel for a 2017 5th wheel. Comes with a new Suburban Stove and Oven, pretty. Even on the lowest setting the stove continues to be too hot and either boils stuff over or burns it.

We contacted Suburban, they contacted a Mobile Tech to check it out. Mobile tech came and conferred with Suburban. It operates as designed. No way to adjust it. Hmmmm!

We told him our old stove would allow us to turn the gas lower and lower until the flame went out. He said yup, in 2013 Suburban responded to complaints about the flame going out and changed the valves, they also made the elements bigger to help disperse the heat.
Hmmmm!

We plan to own this 5th wheel for a long time. So I am researching stove replacements. Top measures 22" x 22". If you are happy with your stove please post the manufacturer and model number.

Thanks in advance!

Get a conduction cooking element, infinite amount of temperature range = no more burned rice.

WOW, if I bought a new stove every time I burned something I would have a big pile of stoves.

Change the pots n' pans to those with thick bases to evenly distribute the heat and eliminate the hotspots, there are lots of them out there. Then turn the heat down...

I use a heat diffuser or a Simmermat https://www.amazon.com/Cooks-Innovations-SimmerMat-Heat-Diffuser/dp/B000W24RW8

The Simmermat works best.

Don't use the 'high btu' burner, use one of the back ones (lower btu burners)
Is it time for your medication or mine?

We just replaced our old Magic Chef with a new Atwood sealed burner with 270 degree controls on all three burners. On low there is barely any flame showing, but is doesn't go out.

I also use a defuser on the burner to slow cook things. I have an older Atwood but cannot get it low enough to keep things from boiling that are on the burner for a long time.

You can get a thingy you put on top of the burner that defuses the flame.Use low flame and your rice won't burn. The DW bought ours in a kitchen gadget store
