Suggestions for an electric cooking device for a small space

I know my subject is odd, but I couldn't think how to describe what I want. I don't like to cook seafood inside the RV so we usually carry a propane burner that will accommodate a large pot or fry pan. We have recently downsized to a B+/small C and don't have room for the burner. I need something that can sit on a picnic table and is easily stored. Something electric would be fine. Any suggestions. lizzie

Hi,

The NuWave will beat a gas stove for boiling water. It will also beat the large burner on a standard electric stove.

I haven't bought anything yet but I'm pretty sure I will go for the Coleman burner. I have looked at everything suggested, either on line or in a store. I wanted something electric but nothing that I have seen has the amount of heat that I need to boil a big pot of water fairly quickly. lizie

So...which did you buy?

When I Google "7" electric skillet" I find several possibilities. Never used one so can't say anything about the specs or performance.

Hi,

I solve the one pan problem with a pot, steamer insert, and double boiler. I stack them up on the Nuwave.

Wife was given one of those NuWave's, and it works great. Only problem I see is we only have 2 pans and their expensive. an you still can only cook one thing at a time, an that's a pain, so she say's ... I just stay out of the way...lol

NuWave cooktop. Wonderful for RV, as it does not produce any extra heat. Just what is needed for cooking.

I have a two burner electric hotplate that I use for bad outside weather or on a table outside in good weather. For medical equipment, I must have electric available anyway. Generally, in FHU campgrounds, there's at least 30A service. I also carry a few plastic gallon jugs of distilled water for coffee and cooking. Sometimes, local water in a CG has an "off" taste due to iron pipes. O.K. for showers, though. I'm waterproof.

I got an opportunity to test a Nuwave on a 1000 PSW inverter. It worked on the 375 F setting, but 425 caused the inverter to overload.

I have an Elite Platinum 800W that you might find is a better choice with a 1000W inverter. All 7 heat settings are 800W and below. There is a ridge that limits you to a 6" base for any pans.

I also have a 1300W Farberware, similar to the NUWAVE, that starts out at 950W on the lowest setting.
