I have one of these for the house and have used it with the OFF-ROAD POPUP trailer I have. It works better then my BATWING but the directivity was a pain. Had to be zero'ed in on the signal.. The BATWING picked up the same signal and didn't have to move it around much.

I was also afraid of the wind load in my case.

This cost was much less than what I read on your's... $69

My setup using the BATWINg antenna back in the woods is hard to beat for me...

I wonder how many people this fact flys right over their heads?
And if this latest channel auction ever gets some traction there will again be a completely populated VHF one day.

Back to the antenna.. for UHF, a 4 Bay Bowtie is hard to beat for its size. The published gain on that loop, if true is pretty impressive

I tried one of these and the Batwing was better.

That's a good antenna as are nearly all the antennas of that basic design. However, it is not necessarily any better than a good Batwing with the Wingman attachment (or a Sensar IV). If you have an easy way to attach the antenna and put it up and down then do not hesitate in giving it a try but you can likely do as well by ensuring your Batwing it up-to-date and getting the proper voltage and signal. If you are WAY out there (60+ miles) from a tower there is a good chance that the antenna you show on a very tall pole will do better but so would a Batwing mounted on a very tall pole.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

well, the mfg's website starts by referring to an "HDTV" antenna. seeing as there is no such thing calls into question everything else the mfg claims.

Depending on your mounting, it will probably be as good or better than a batwing. In either case, about 70 miles or so is generally max with UHF. With my late-model batwing, and the Winegard booster inside, I have no trouble with 60+ miles direct over flatland. Much past that, the signal just ain't there at all. I have an amplified flat window antenna at our S&B, about 50 miles is good.
