Is this possible?

I have a PC at home that I must log into.

If the power goes out for a few hours, I have it on battery backup BUT if the power is out for days, is there a way to make the PC come back on after the electric comes back on?

As mentioned, Bios setting is the best way. If the computer is too old to have that functionality, consider replacing it with a laptop with available boot bios setting. In addition to the UPS, you could gain another 4 to 6 hours (depending on laptop) of uptime if needed. Obviously, your router and cable modem, if applicable, need to be on UPS.

OK. I figured if he was there to log-on he could also push the power button.
I did not think you could remote access until logged on.

He didn't say it needed to self log-in, only that he needed to log in to it. I took that to mean it needs to be on so he can remotely access it.

For Windows 7 do the following:
Start Button, type CMD in search box.
At the top, under Programs, right click on CMD.EXE
Select Run As Administrator
At the DOS prompt type Control Userpasswords2 and press enter
Uncheck Users must enter a user name and password to use computer
Click Ok Button
Enter user name and login password
Click Ok Button
Click Ok Button

Reboot PC and it should boot without asking for password.
Have to check Windows 10 but it may work the same way.

I think you're asking how to keep the home PC powered on if the power is lost for longer than the UPS can carry it. Usually in the BIOS of the PC there is a setting about what to do in the case of a power failure (and then restore of power) -- stay turned off or turn back on.

You could just get a UPS that lasts much longer. Some have connectors for additional batteries. Or, build your own from a small inverter/charger and some deep cycle batteries.
My whole house is essential on a battery back-up. I have 8 6v golf cart batteries and 2 Outback 3,600 watt inverters. It will run all the lights and appliances plus the well for about 16 hours. Not big things like the AC, Dryer, WH, etc.

Your PC's BIOS may support this. Check for setting called "AC Power Recovery" or "Restart After Power Loss" or something similar. It will probably be in your "Advaned" or "Power Management" sections.

Shut it down when not using.....then no drain on battery pack whether AC is lost or not

Doesn't your battery back up system automatically switch back and forth as needed?

Power goes out, system automatically switches to battery back-up.
Power comes back on, system atomically switches back.
