KING CONTROLS - KING DISH TECHNICAL SUPPORT

I have been in the process of getting the motorhome ready to travel this summer. One of the items on the list was to install a new
Dish VIP211K receiver as dish changed out all our old legacy receivers several months ago.

This seemed to be somewhat of a chore as when I used the conventional cable connections the television picture was poor and grainy plus it didn't appear the King Dome was switching between 119 / 110 satellites.

After thinking on it overnight I decided to try the HDMI cable hookup and WOW what a difference. However, I still didn’t think the sat dish was switching between 110 / 119 satellites. So, I did a little fussing with the King control panel and suddenly ended up with nothing! :R

This morning I pulled up the number for King Controls and gave them a call. After a couple of key punches I was transferred to the technical support line. As all lines were busy at the time the recording asked me to leave a name and phone number and I would receive a call back within a couple hours.

Well, a little over an hour passed and the phone rang with Pat from King Controls on the line. He started by asking some basic questions, then had me remove the control panel, unplug th RJ-11 connector and plug it back in. (Seems the thing kind of lost its mind :):
Anyway, that corrected the first portion of the problem and Pat went on to lead me step-by-step through a diagnostic program, dealer setting program and several other things. Pat stayed on the line with me for well over an hour until the system worked correctly with my new Dish 211 receiver.

I remember some years ago when a number of complaints concerning customer and technical service at King Controls. However, whatever problems that might have existed sure appear to be corrected.

In my opinion Pat, as a technical service advisor, went well above the help I expected, was very patient as we went through the process, and made sure a had a clear television picture before he bid me a good evening.

I consider Pat to be a very valuable human resource asset to the King Controls Company.
