Rand McNally Truckers Atlas and GPS Units for RVers

I have the latest version of the Rand McNally truckers Atlas and it's a great tool to use to plan your trips. It shows the roads that are trucker friendly and therefore RV friendly (No low bridges to contend with etc.) I also have a Garmin Dezl 760LMT that allows for Car/RV/Truck settings. It works fine in Car mode but when I'm in RV or Truck mode, it won't take me down roads I know to be safe to travel from the Rand McNally Truckers Atlas. It always wants me to go way out of my way. Does anyone know if the Rand McNally RVND 7 or similar Rand McNally GPS units are more in line with what their Atlas says are safe roads or will they act in the same manner as my Garmin unit does? I just want to give myself the best opportunities to avoid low bridges, dead ends etc.
Thanks in advance.

I asked him to do one thing and he didn't do any of them.

Just purchased the RVND 7 and it can be set for the size of your TT, plus TV to route you around low bridges. You can avoid ferries, toll roads, and anything the Good Sam Gps I had to replace. I set up my route with the GS tripmaker then load it to my RVND 7.

You need to insure you set up the Rand McNally in RV mode as for height, weight and length.
It should if kept updated make it easier.

It's very possible that the routes you selecting have some roads or streets that trucks aren't allowed on. That was the reason I got rid of my truck/RV GPS: it wouldn't stick to the routes I created unless it was in Automobile mode. Made it nearly worthless.

check your settings and make sure its set for fastest route and not shortest route. also look to see what tyoes of roads are included/excluded in route prep.
