slow wifi

Hi to all. We live in a CG that supplies free Wi-Fi. Half the time I can't get on. Is there a product that can pick up the cg signal and boost it. Reasonable priced. Thanks.

Put some shoes on and walk over to the office area that probably has a better signal.

If you are looking to watch video you might want some other connection besides free wifi.

The campground has a cheap, bandwidth limited, connection so when the entire park is trying to down their nightly movie, your connection will be slow to non existent. It costs a lot of money to have sufficient bandwidth so that the entire park can have good service, probably in excess of $2,000 a month for a commercial account, which they should have.

You have two choices, either live with it or get your own connection thru ATT, Verizon, T Mobile, etc.

You might try connecting between the hours of 1-3 AM when everyone is in bed.

Poor signal is not the problem in most campgrounds. It is band width. Just too many hogs at the trough. Just not enough room. We have switch to using the hot spot on our iphone. It would be expensive to stream movies, but it will work for email, shopping etc.

If the campground WiFi is no good, it will still be no good even with the best booster available. When things aren't working can you get a good connection by taking the computer close to the office or where ever the router is located? If so, a booster might help.

Think of it like a hose.

A 1/8th inch diameter hose can be made longer but it still wont' move a lot of water.

Plenty of wifi range extenders but that only solves can the hose reach from the spigot to the trailer not if it can supply enough water.

Not unusual to have good signal strength and park wifi is still so slow as to be barely useable. Have not found many parks with good high speed wifi.

A WiFi amplifier/repeater will not speed up the service, although it may allow you to connect to the service more reliably.
