VuQube 2000 noisy

I just purchased a refurbished VuQube 2000. I set it up for the Dish HD Eastern Arc with locals which is 62.5, 72, and 77. Only 62.5 and 72 show on the switch test but I seem to have all channels and HD. My real concern is the fact the the VuCube is extremly loud when searching, making humming and a ratchet like sound. I can hear it inside with the windows and door closed. I spoke with a technician at King Dome who said all VuCubes make noise. I would like to hear from other VuCube owners as to how loud their unit is. Thanks.

I have a Vu Cube 2000. Yes it makes audible noises.
I have it set for eastern Arc. However my channels are 110, 1119 and 62.5 are those settings/channels old and out of date?

Mr. Wizard,
Different devices but same manufacturer and same basic hardware! The Tailgater is a King Dome product with specialized software within the VuQube for the Dish only, receiver specific, service.
They ARE pretty much mechanically the same.

Actually, the Tailgater is a VuQube 2500.

I also have the 2000 and can hear it inside. 3 years old. BTW, on the DISH Eastern arc, the 77deg sat handles only foreign language channels, so you are otherwise good with just the 61.5 and 72.7 sats........

I also have the 2000 and can hear it inside. It has been this way for 4 years since it was new. I kind of like the noise - when it stops I know I should have the channels.

What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

I have a Tailgater, which I think is pretty much the same, and you can hardly hear it when you are sitting right next to it - no way you could hear it from inside the rig ....
