What stereos have good radio reception?

Good morning all, I am looking for info as to a stereo or stereo/dvd setup that has good radio reception.
I have never tried this but would hooking up my existing stereo/dvd cable to the antennea enhance my radio reception?

I do not know what Stereo receivers have the best reception today but I do recall sitting in an older car with a decent antenna listening to clear channel stations from hundreds (many hundreds) of miles away,, In fact on AM I was listening to the same station all the way from Flordia to DETROIT (WJR Detroit, used to carry CBS MYSTERY THEATER long about 11 pm or 12AM).

That said,, the most important part of a radio receiver is the very first part. THE ANTENNA.. Not the receiver itself, but THE ANTENNA.

Thanks Camperpaul, I believe my trailer does have a seperate FM input and will try connecting the FM input to the TV antenna. I will get a better cable, the one i have now is one of those slide on ones and they don't work very well.
Thanks RoyB, car radio makes sense. I will try that if I don't get enough improvement from the TV antenna.

If the stereo radio has separate inputs for AM and FM antennas, connecting the FM input to the Batwing TV antenna will greatly improve reception.

This is also where I listen to my INTERNET RADIO SCANNER FREQUECIES all over the USA... Hometown POLICE and RESCUE SQUAD no matter where we are at. Keep track of the kids doing this haha...

It depends on how far away you are from the broadcast tower. Personally we have found a decent radio and a Satellite receiver the best option. We get the exact same music content anywhere we are.

The best radios I have used in the Rv trailrs are CAR RADIOs. They are engineered to work from the weakest of antennas and have all the extra circuits inplace to eliminate most man made noises...

Can't beat a good ole JENSEN CAR RADIO setup wired into your trailer 12VDC wiring.

Then I get to use the front to back slider to run stereo speakers inside the trailer or outside the trailer or both from the radio... Most of these radios comes with music DVDs as well.

while it's true that the quality/engineering of a receiver will enhance it's ability to pull in radio signals the quality/engineering of the receiving antenna has a lot more to do with that. IMO the short rubber-ducky antenna on a lot of RVs, including our MH, leave a whole lot to be desired when it comes to receiving AM/FM signals...especially AM.
