Welcome to the forums. We are/were all beginners at one time. I've learned a lot of valuable information here. My favorite piece of information, and one I'll never forget:

"Put it in park. Stop the engine. Set the parking brake. Chock the wheels...ask me how I know!"

I've never forgotten it, and it is my mantra when we arrive at our site. Park, stop, brake, chock.

Happy camping!

Pitch summed it up pretty well but he left out one thing. PLEASE read the Forum Rules that everyone agrees to (but seldom read) before you post very much. That will sure help with the moderation necessary. :W

Welcome johnsmith. No matter what trop I cal says this is a social forum. Yes we do come here for information, but also to socialize with other like minded people. I'm hoping what he meant is that it is not for conversations between 3 or 4 friends, to the exclusion of others. Some folks have a real hard time with tact.
With the many boards on this forum there is something for everyone, "Around the Campfire" is the best for general chit chat not pertaining to a particular topic.
There is a wealth of information and misinformation available from the posters that frequent these boards. We have our share of keyboard commandos and tough guys. We have brand war juveniles, we have shoot first ask questions later, we have dog haters, we have kid lovers,we have weight police and we have braggarts, and everyone has an opinion valid or not.
Please come on in, skim the forums that pertain to your interests, and post as you wish,if you are out of line someone with moderator under their name will set you straight. Give it a couple of weeks and then make your judgment.

Your introduction is via your profile. Newbees should join threads to get info and opine. You are then known by your post and replies. You are welcomed, but use the forum for information not a social network.
