Drawers in a Travel Trailer

I asked for ideas on how to keep drawers secure while traveling. Got several ideas. I bought the male/female latch like on cabinet doors. Now I have a problem. When going to mount the female end, I have about 5 inches of space and cannot get a screw driver long ways to put the screw in. Any ides? Will glue hold it in place?

My drawer slides did not have a latch mechanism, the drawers and cupboard doors each had one of those tabs that fits into spring rollers. Works ok for most doors and drawers, not so much the big pot drawer under the stove. I lost count how many times that thing came open and had the slide come apart. I finally replaced the slides with heavy duty soft close from Home depot. That helps keep it closed, I also added 2 more of the tab/roller catches. Better now.

Years ago my husband listened to my complaints and was going to finally fix the drawer that opened when traveling. He found all he had to do was tighten what was already there. Before you do anything else, see if that is the problem.

And in some, there is a magnet.
And in others, there is a spring loaded "clamp".

Are you sure you are getting the drawers closed all the way ??

The last one I saw without anything was a tiny little TT built in 1965.

That is a separate stop.
There should be one that is activated when the draws are closed.

enblethen, the drawers do not come all the way out, as to the floor. They just come half way out.

Look at the end of the drawer guides mounted in the cabinet. There should be small dog ears that need to be bent out so you have to raise the draw slightly to pull them out.

I have a screw driver that has the ends bent at a ninty degree angle just for stuff like that.
One end is Philips and the other is a slotted.
They are inexpensive

I don know what kind or drawers you have but I thought they all had a latch that was right in the track. We never had a drawer open in all the campers we have had.
Maybe you just need to fit the track.

What kind of an RV do you have with drawers that do not already have some kind of friction latching mechanism ??
