We just purchased a 5th wheel. Live on a farm and wondering when it is in our shed what we can use and how to use to keep the mice out?

Make sure to use copper wool or -stainless- steel wool, otherwise regular steel wool will turn into a rust powder in no time...

In my personal experience, you have to replace it often. It will not last the whole winter. But at least the instructions tell you this.

I went with peppermint oil on cottonballs inside the coach this season. Mothballs in the engine compartment and under the front steering area.

I used expanding foam without the steel wool. Worked good. Forgot to seal the space around the power cord and had mice a couple of years ago. Now I keep that sealed and no mice.

Along with the steel wool and foam to seal any intrusion points this looks loike a viable product.

I have no association with petes RV. Good luck

Fill any gaps with steel wool after you soak cotton balls with peppermint oil and push them into the cracks. Leaves your RV minty fresh and mice-less.

When I lived in Iowa and had a popup I used to buy a box of moth balls every fall, put 2 or 3 mothballs into about 15 dixie cups and then put the cups all over inside the popup - inside drawers, cabinets etc. I even opened the outside access panel for the water heater, water inlet, etc and stuck a few cups in there. In the spring I would gather up all the cups and dispose, then leave the camper opened up for a few days to air out. Never once had a problem. You might consider doing the same. I would probably also sprinkle a whole box all around and under the rig on the shed floor. Maybe 2 boxes - they're cheap, they work, and it's easy clean-up.

Live on a farm? All those in Minnesota that live on farms have a mouser-cat. Best way I know of to keep the mice-critters out of the barn!

SWD's advice is excellent and certainly less violent than mine!

When dark, take a trouble light and crawi underneath the unit while at the same time having somone inside looking to see if any light penetrates the TT. Cracks around pipes and wires etc can be filled with steel wool and then sprayed with expanding foam. Make sure all roof vents are sealed off too! Place a plastic pail over the tank vents and a rubbermaid box over the fridge vent. Set up some traps and periodically clean then out. Dont put out poisoned bait as they will eat and crawl into a wall cavity and decompose.
