Sheets?

In the flyer for our RV it says that the queen bed is 60x80. But, when I look at all of the Queen sheets on Camping World, they are 60x75.

Is that so that the fitted sheet is real tight?

I know I don't want to get sheets out in the store, as the fitted sheets are made for deep mattresses nowadays, and it will be all loose. 😞

Actually this is true, most RV's come with a short queen which is 60x74. Some manufactures are starting to put real queen beds in there units and getting away from the cheap mattresses.

Or a couple sets of sheet grippers.

I had a problem with fitted sheets on the home bed continually pulling loose the opposite side next to the wall and the top sheet pulling out from the foot of the bed. I bought 2 sets (8 grippers) and more problems.

If the fitted sheet isn't as snug as you would like, pick up a set of "sheet straps" at Walmart, Bed, Bath & Beyond, etc. They're elastic straps that attach across the corners of the fitted sheet under the mattress, pulling out any slack. They also work well for using standard queen fitted sheets on a short queen mattress.

To answer your question, the " rv queen " is 60x74. Also known as a " short " queen. There are still coaches being sold with that size. Most manufacturers over the past several years have changed to the " standard queen " which is 60 x 80.

Regarding the sheets, just use the " standard " queen sheet size. No need to purchase special sized sheets. Regular sheets work well though you might have to tuck one edge a little bit. Also, using a topper on the mattress will fill up the sheet a little bit.

You might find you need a topper since most rv mattresses from the factory are garbage, and uncomfortable. For this reason, most choose to replace the " rv mattress " with a more comfy " standard " or home mattress.

Easy enough to buy standard non deep queen sheets and 60*80 is just that. I buy them all the time, online and at stick and brick department stores. Good sale going on @ Bonton's right now.

For ease in making certain RV style beds (non centered ones spring to mind) just pull out your sewing machine and stitch the top sheet's bottom edge to the fitted sheets bottom just up from the elasticised seam. Making the bed becomes much easier. Can't sew/no machine? Your local dry cleaner will be happy to accommodate.

there are different type of queen mattresses they are all 60 inches wide.
There is a short queen that is 74 - 75 inches long
A standard queen 80 inches long
A California queen 84 inches
There are a couple of other queens not so well known.

Many beds are now the standard size queens. Ours is 60x80 and we use standard size sheets as a result. In fact, we too have replaced the mattress with the one that came in the RV and we sleep real good!
