Has anyone tried using a early style, 1977 Ford Bronco, auto, as a toad? Any modifications, or problems? Thanks

I towed my 74 for a while. It was an automatic and had lock out hubs. Just locked the hubs out, put it in neutral and off I went. Never had a problem.

I'd check with EBR (Early Bronco Registry) to see how people are getting along now as I no longer have one... miss it though.

I owned several early Broncos..never towed one though.

Jeep 4X4 flat tow (1977 Jeep uses same transfer case)
Transfer case uses a slinger oil ring on input shaft so transfer case needs to be in NEUTRAL so nothing is moving.
Auto transmission should be in PARK
Front Hubs should be IN so front drive shaft turns....output shaft can then sling oil

Like I said......never flat towed a Bronco but did tow a Jeep.

Might what to go to a Ford Bronco site and ask about flat towing.
Don't know if still up and running......http://classicbroncos.com/
Is it time for your medication or mine?

My buddy towed a Bronco 2 with his motorhome. I know they make a bracket kit for that truck. Don't know about the Bronco.

Do you have manual 4X4 and locking front hubs? In the current versions that are approved for 4 wheel down towing, they say it works when the transfer case is in neutral and the front hubs are manually unlocked.
