Gee what a surprise that Remco recommends cars that need a tranny lube pump! Guess who sells tranny lube pumps???

We like our AWD CRV which has adequate room and easy to tow. We've even driven on on beaches. Since it's not FWD we avoid deep soft sand...

Both Motorhome magazine and FMCA have towing guides.

Here's a better link for Remco's Lookup table. It also shows listings for vehicles that can be towed without a pump, such as the 2014 and older CR-V's.

This is directly from the 2015 CR-V owner's manual (USA) 12/15/2014 revision:

"Towing Your Vehicle
Your vehicle is not designed to be towed behind a motor home. If your vehicle needs to be towed in an emergency, refer to the emergency towing information"

2015 Honda CR-V CANNOT be towed four down.

Are you sure about that? My tea leaves say it only applies to CRVs sold in Japan.

Regardless always make sure you have written information from the mfg on towing 4 down as in the owners manual and of course BEFORE you buy. Never believe a salesman, etc. including any of us...

Since you are a Ford guy already, the Focus works well 4 down.

When I had a 2003 Malibu automatic, I put it in neutral with key in accessory position and it towed great 4 down. There are a lot of automatic Saturnโ€™s that are also tow able 4 down. I now tow a 2013 Honda CRV automatic 4 down. CRV 2wd or awd are both towable 4 down, automatic trans only since I think 2007. 2015 CRV is not tow able due to a transmission change. Dick

Wife thinks she wants a new car,I want it to be towable 4 down. I would be happy with used ,so may end up new or used. I already got a super hitch ,so I can tow boat, and other times want to pull toad behind truck camper, thanks for suggestions. I would go 7 yrs old or newer I have a 2011 f-350 6.7 dually so I believe there should be no problems towing.Just putting a list together ,so we can go to car lots and look at whats towable. We used to always remove camper, last trip to Erie we rented a car cheap for a couple days. I like idea of when were on road for months having a toad.

most any Jeep with an auto tranny can be flat towed that also has a manually selectable neutral position manually selectable neutral position in the 4WD transfer case.
