AC issues...

I have a Dometic Duotherm Brisk Air Model 57915.622 and my AC is acting weird....

I have replaced the start and the run capacitors and at first start up I have to turn AC on and off a couple of times to get the compressor and fan to come on. but once I do I can shut off and leave it for a minute and it starts right up...

Here is the weird part... before I replaced the run cap...the compressor and fan would come on after flipping off and on and it would start right up on fan setting... But when I replaced the start cap the fan just hums... but I can still flip the compressor and fan on and off and the compressor and the fan both come on...

When I go from AC to fan it just hums again and I have to wait to turn the AC back on..
My start cap is a SPP6 and my run cap is a 30mf + 5mf do I have the right caps? All my research says yes...

I am out in my camper now and I am about to freeze the AC works really good <<> Its around 78 degrees here...

I am bumfuzzled...

Why did think your caps were bad?was the run cap bulged ,burnt, tested open or low capacitance with a METER
Sounds like you rewired the fan wrong at the cap.if correct then its the motor maybe

My brother has a Coleman Mach and it works terribly but, that's not what the OP asked.

I'm no expert glockgeek but, could your switch be bad? Is this a unit with the switch built into it above you head? You talk about switching it on and off to get it to go and if the switch was bad maybe that's is the problem. I'm just guessing though.

I disagree with the above. The newer Coleman Powersaver models are great, and come with a hard start kit already installed. They run off a smaller gen, they are free from vibration, and work great!

What ever you do do not replace it with a Coleman unit, we made that mistake.

The Coleman Mach yust does not do a good jod, the filters are on two sides and you can not claen them while the AC is running since the whole bottom has to be unscrewed and you can not reatach the screens unles you turn the AC off or the filters will get sucked in.

With the Dometic I could replace the filter with a clean one with out turning the unit off, and the Coleman basically does nothing when the temperature gets to 95 and above with 10 to 16% humidity, if the humidity is higher the unit does nothing above 85 degrees.

The Dometic would keep going cold we had to turn the thermostat so that the RV was not a meat locker, try to repair the Dometic if beyond repair get a DOMETIC.

I think the fan motor is shot. I don't think the fan motor has any capacitors, they are for the compressor. When the fan is humming, if you can push start the fan and it takes off...replace the fan motor.
