AC Needing Reset?

We are staying the week in wisconsin. Our site is only 30a so we're only using 1 ac.

This morning when we woke up, as usual it was off. After walking the dog and getting back to the camper, the ac still wasnt running.

I first took out my meat thermometer, and it was reading 80 inside at the thermostat. Then turned the thermostat down from 70 to 65. Still didnt start. Breaker was in good shape, so i turned the unit up again to 70, shut it down completly, and then after a minute or so turned it on and it worked as usual.

We have been gone most of the day but considering our fw is 42' long and the vents up front blow poorly im assuming its been running all day.

We will shut it down when it cools, then alternate our bedroom ac on till bed, then turn the main on again for overnight.

Do you find it unusual i had to give it a shut down? Are we killing it by letting it spin continuously?

We have a large dog and leaving it off isnt an option.

Just looking for more expert advise from the site.

My thermostat has an hourglass that pops up when it is delayed starting up. Reminds me that things are not instantaneous.

I reread the post.
Sail switch in thermostat if it happens again, needs to be checked.
Failures start of intermittent and then completely. They are like a set of points in an old condenser ignition if a car.
Some people up try to run the ac's on low instead of auto. They freeze up from lack of air volume through the ac. It freezes up and won't do anything sometimes. Sometimes it will kick the breaker.
Other times after all the ice is gone but it may be balky and take a while.
AC in some campgrounds up there we found very low voltage. Sometimes it would start out showing normal voltage and after a fe minutes of high load from several campers or ac's the corroded wiring would heat up and switches would pop or not and low voltage might burn up motors and electronics. If it showing low volts , run your generator instead.

Goint to hope for a delay issue. Will check the fuse and battery as well.

Check your 12 volt fuse. Mine would shut off like that but I found out the fuse needed cleaning

Some have a delay of several minutes- you may have just hit that delay time.

ac and fridge need 12 volt to run thermostat. ac will come on but when it reaches the set temp and shuts off it can not turn back on again if there is low 12v going to it. The voltage only needs to be off just a little for the thermostat not to work correctly.

You might have a low voltage problem. Check that your converter is charging your battery and/or check that your coach battery is not shot.

Also don't flip the temp up and down or flip the on switch on and off. The ac has a delay. You are screwing that all up by flipping it on and off and temp up and down. Mine has such a long delay before it comes on that to this day I still have heart checks that it's broke. Only to have it come in a few minutes.

It is made to run continuously. Why it stopped I have no clue. My unit will run all day if needed, just like my house unit when it's 100+.
